Founded in 2013 by Paul, the crew's name is a powerful tribute to 1994, the year South Africa became a democratic state. Their core mission is to embody the spirit of the new nation by creating a diverse and inclusive community that brings together people from all backgrounds, including those who were previously considered "illegal" in the old South Africa. They are a tight-knit family of "unlikely individuals" who have come together to be better, using running as the golden thread that ties them together.
