Cape Peninsula Marathon

Right in the heart of Cape Town, something new happened for runners. Erin and Mike started Community Track Club in January 2023 to make track running accessible to everyone, not just the fastest. Their goal is simple: to let anyone run in the Stadium and feel comfortable. Every six weeks, they host a track meet with different pace groups, guest coaches, and a focus on making sure everyone feels included and has a good time.

Founded in September 2020 by Kyle, Mindset Movement is a Cape Town running crew built on resilience, positivity, and personal transformation. Emerging during a challenging time, the crew now unites over 70 runners from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to mental toughness and mutual support. Kyle’s inspiring journey—from overcoming addiction to conquering physical and mental challenges—shapes the crew’s ethos of “no negativity, no excuses, always give your best.” Mindset Movement offers six weekly sessions ranging from early morning runs to high-intensity training and scenic long runs that highlight Cape Town’s stunning landscapes, including iconic routes like the Sea Point Promenade and Table Mountain trails. Welcoming both locals and visitors, the crew fosters genuine community and personal growth through structured training and shared experiences. As part of Cape Town’s vibrant running culture, Mindset Movement stands out for its focus on endurance, kindness, and the transformative power of running together.

Founded in 2017 by Mike in Cape Town, MustLoveHills RUNCREW has grown from a small group of friends into a dedicated community of about 80 runners united by a passion for hill training and personal growth. The crew’s ethos centers on pushing limits through challenging hill repeats and track workouts, all while fostering an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where every member’s progress is celebrated. With coaching staff tailoring sessions to individual needs, MustLoveHills balances performance with camaraderie and social impact, engaging in community initiatives year-round. Training takes place against Cape Town’s stunning natural backdrop, from Foresters Arms hills to scenic trails by the Atlantic, blending fitness with the city’s vibrant running culture. Open to runners of all levels, the crew welcomes newcomers to join free sessions and find their stride within a group that values determination, friendship, and a shared journey through the city’s unique terrain.

The Nine Four is a remarkable and deeply meaningful running club based in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded in 2013 by Paul, the crew's name is a powerful tribute to 1994, the year South Africa became a democratic state. Their core mission is to embody the spirit of the new nation by creating a diverse and inclusive community that brings together people from all backgrounds, including those who were previously considered "illegal" in the old South Africa. They are a tight-knit family of "unlikely individuals" who have come together to be better, using running as the golden thread that ties them together.

Cool Runnings Recreational Club (CRRC) is a great example of a running group that encourages a healthy lifestyle while offering a lively social community for runners in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded on December 1, 2015, by Heinrich and a group of friends, their name playfully nods to being "recreational in every possible way." They are an incredibly adaptable group, welcoming runners of all distances, from 5K to 100K, on both road and trail. With a busy weekly schedule and strong local partnerships, they have become a valuable part of the city's running culture.
