This race consists of the following: Individual, Team Competition, 3 Person Relay and a 5K.

Individual Competition: Sign up to participate as an individual. We will have age groups in 5 year increments.

The Sprint Triathlon Team option is included for the 12th year. The team competition will consist of three divisions – male, female, and coed. This is NOT a relay, each team member will do all three components of the Sprint Tri. The overall race times of the three team members will be added together to determine a final team time. The team with the lowest total time in their division will win team trophies. Racers that participate on a team are still eligible for overall and age group awards.

The Sprint Triathlon 3 Person Relay competition will consist of three divisions – male, female, and coed. Each Relay member will complete one component of the Sprint Tri. The three times will be added together to determine a final time. The Relay with the lowest combined time in their division will win the relay competition.

The 5K is open to both runners and walkers and will start at 7:15 a.m. Overall and age group awards will also be given out for the 5K.

Race time for the individual, Team and 3 Person Relay will start at 6:45 a.m. Transitions open at 5:45 a.m. and close at 6:45 a.m.

Dallas Athletes Racing will produce the 2025 Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon & 5K. Multi sport enthusiasts in the North Texas area will recognize Dallas Athletes Racing as the company responsible for highly regarded local events such as the St. Patrick's Day, Caveman, TexasMan, Disco, and Monster triathlons.

    Run - 3.1 miles

Over 4,000 athletes have participated in the first 16 editions of the Pioneer Power Sprint. Profits from the 2025 Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon & 5K will benefit the TWU soccer team.

Competitors in the 2025 Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon & 5K will receive a tech shirt and finisher's medal.

The Old College Tri returns! We have A&M Aggies, TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Longhorns, Nebraska Huskers, Texas Tech Red Raiders, SMU Mustangs, North Texas Eagles, Rice Owls, Boomer Sooners, OK State Cowboys, King's Point Midshipmen, West Point Cadets and many others supporting their alma mater! TEAM COMPETITION: We will have teams for male, female, coed. This is not a relay. If you sign up a team we add all three disciplines (Swim, Bike, Run ) together and the team with the lowest time wins a team trophy. You can sign up as a team and still be eligible for overall and age group awards. This is just a fun way to compete with others and have bragging rights as a team champion.

40 Yard Dash: There will a 40 yard dash champion in each age group. Save a little so you can sprint at the end and be the sprint champion in your age group. First place Trophies for each age group champion

    WEATHER POLICY

In the event of inclement weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to 1 hour. Past this time, the even course may be shortened or altered to protect the participants.

If conditions turn unsafe, the event may be cancelled. Event changes and cancellations are at the discretion of the Race Director.

We always strive to produce a full and safe sporting event, but sometimes the weather conditions can affect those plans.

Considerable amount goes into planning a sporting event and we do so with the best intentions. Unfortunately, no one can control the weather and race directors are not the exceptions.

Our goal is to always produce a full event as scheduled and only modify these plans due to safety concerns some of which can be caused by weather conditions.

Thank you for your understanding of these policies and we appreciate your participation.
