Boston is not just a simple race, it's the ultimate Grail for any self-respecting running enthusiast! 🏆 Established on April 19, 1897, just one year after the revival of the marathon at the 1896 Athens Games, the event is the oldest annual marathon competition in the world 🌍. Integrated into the exclusive circle of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, Boston joins Tokyo, Berlin, London, Chicago, New York, and Sydney. So naturally, getting your bib is no easy task 😨. First, you'll need to achieve a demanding qualifying time in your age category at a certified race 😮. Anyway, before discussing qualifications, let's introduce you to the event ✋.

Run for a cause. Run with the Y. Join the Saugus Family YMCA's Not a Walk in the Park 5K and help support your community. This family-friendly run/walk takes you through the beautiful scenery of Breakheart Reservation in Saugus. Registration includes post-race refreshments and prizes for runners in every age category. All proceeds support the YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund to provide access to YMCA child care, camp, and health and wellness programs to everyone.

The YMCA of Metro North Road Race Series raises funds for a variety of charitable activities that benefit our community. Participants in our four unique 5K races run or walk to support the YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund and raise money to provide access to YMCA child care, camp, and health and wellness programs to everyone. In 2025 the YMCA of Metro North provided more than $3 million in financial aid providing all children, adults and families with opportunities to develop a healthy spirit, mind and body regardless of income.

Bring your significant other, kids, parents, friends, or even your pet (no snakes allowed, please!).

Please come by 10min early for a quick warmup session with the Personal Trainer Luis B.
