From the legendary finish line of the Boston Marathon to the spirited atmosphere of its world-renowned sports culture, the "City of Champions" provides an electrifying backdrop for athletes ready to push their limits in one of America's most iconic hubs.

The challenge unfolds at the Thomas Michael Menino Convention and Exhibition Center, a premier waterfront venue that offers a sprawling, high-energy arena for the ultimate indoor fitness race. Over three action-packed days, competitors will tackle the signature DEKA FIT course featuring 10 functional fitness zones paired with 5km of running. This event boasts a massive lineup including Elite and Age Group heats, Ruck waves, and high-intensity 2-Person and thrilling 4-Person team categories. For those seeking the pinnacle of endurance, Boston will also host the DEKA FIT Ultra, providing a grueling yet rewarding platform for athletes to cement their own legacy in this historic city.

Held in Chelsea, Massachusetts, our 3rd annual road race invites participants to experience a scenic route that winds through the heart of the community, passing by cherished local landmarks. The Chelsea Road Race continues to serve as a meaningful platform to promote healthy living and empower community members to embrace running and movement as part of their everyday lives.

This year marks an exciting milestone as we proudly introduce, for the first time, wheelchair divisions for both female and male participants, further strengthening our commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and equal opportunity in sport. The race celebrates Chelsea’s rich and diverse cultural heritage while offering more than just a test of physical endurance, it is a celebration of community, resilience, and unity.

Designed for individuals of varying abilities and experience levels, the course welcomes seasoned runners, casual joggers, and adaptive athletes alike. To recognize and reward early participation, the first 500 registered participants will receive an official race T-shirt as part of their race-day experience.

The Chelsea Road Race is proudly organized and managed by the City of Chelsea - Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs. This program is funded in part by the Chelsea Community Fund and a grant from the Chelsea Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. The Annual Glen Doherty Memorial 5K/10K Road Race will take place again this September - we're hosting this race to support our GDMF Scholars and honor hometown hero Glen Doherty! Proceeds from this event go towards our Scholarship Fund so we can support our Special Operations Community to get the education or professional training they need to transition to new careers.

You can run, walk or ruck! Join a team or start a new one!

Race t-shirts are FREE to the first 500 in person registered participants and available for purchase for others during bib pick up times. Other merchandise available for purchase as well. Participants are strongly encouraged to pick up bibs on Saturday to avoid race day lines!

Who does the race benefit and who does it honor?

Our race benefits the young girls of Cambridge. The Cambridge Girls Softball League and other girls' sports teams are the primary recipients of the funds from the race. These great organizations work on team building, athletic skills, and strengthen the connection among physical, mental and social well-being of girls. We've raised over $130,000 for girls' sports in Cambridge!

Post-Race Block Party

After the race there will a block party outside Paddy's until 7PM. Walden Street will be closed off to traffic and there will be a large beer garden, food trucks, and a DJ.

Is the race sanctioned and timed?

The 5K is USA Track and Field sanctioned and timed by RaceWire.

Parking will be available at Danehy Park.

Number Pick-up

Registration and number and shirt pick-up will be available Thursday, September 25 from 6pm - 9pm; Friday, September 26 from 4p-7p and Saturday, September 27 from 12p-4p. In addition, sign ups will be available on race morning, September 28, from 8am - 9:30am.

Every year, approx 1 in 8 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer, making it one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide. At Tufts Medical Center, we are committed to providing the most innovative care to those patients facing this diagnosis. This race aims to raise awareness and show support to the patients, family and friends that have been impacted by breast cancer.
