    Save the Date!

Splash of Color 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Family Fun Walk

for St. Vincent Early Learning Center on Saturday, June 13, 2026

Title Sponsor: You are invited to join Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, our title sponsor this year, and support this event as a sponsor (LINK), a participant (inviting your family, friends, and co-workers), and/or a volunteer. Act now! The print deadline for banners, signs, and t-shirts is Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Thank you!

Together, we can ensure high-quality early childhood education is accessible to all children.

    Program Partner: Evansville Trails Coalition

Nature Exploration is an educational pillar at St. Vincent, and thanks to your support for this event, we will be able to add/continue "Trails on a Smaller Scale" programming for toddlers and preschoolers throughout the year as capacity and time allow

    Registration and Fee(s)

    5K Run/Walk

To sign up, the fee is $30 before May 5, 2026, $35 until June 7, 2026, and $40 on or after the event day. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

    1-Mile Family Fun Walk

    T-Shirts

    All registrations for the 5K Race/Walk will receive a short-sleeved t-shirt!

5K Run registrations will be guaranteed a T-shirt on or before May 27, 2026. After that date, shirts and sizes are not guaranteed to be available on the event day.

All registrations for the 1-Mile Family Fun Walk can purchase a short-sleeved t-shirt(s)!

1-mile registrations on or before May 27, 2025, can purchase a T-shirt(s). After that date, shirts and sizes are not guaranteed to be on sale/available on the event day. A white or light-colored T-shirt is recommended if you want to experience the "splash of color" feature of the event.

    Color

As a fun part of this event, participants can experience being splashed with color. If you do not want to be "splashed," then you can avoid (most of) it by staying to one side of the course. Our events are similar to The Color Run^TM experience, but not yet quite as big (in time!). We always plan on having color fun as part of the Run and Walk! The amount and degree to which we can have fun with color as part of the 5K Run/Walk depends on sponsors, volunteers, and participants. The color dust is non-toxic, biodegradable, and not harmful to wildlife or vegetation. In our quest for fun, this event will still strive to maintain a low environmental impact. After the event, leaf blowers will be used to help disperse any excess color dust off of walkways to help prevent it from being tracked into buildings/around the park. A nice rain will wash everything away.

    Start Time(s)

The 5K Timed Race begins at 8:00 am (CST)

The 5K Walk begins (approximately) at 8:05 am (CST)

The 1-mile Children & Family Walk begins at approximately 9:15 am (CST)

    Can I Walk the Race?

Yes! You may run or walk this 5K race, but please maintain a pace to complete it within one hour. Only runners will be awarded.

    Awards

Awards will be given to 5K runners who run and finish in the top two males and females of their age brackets, listed below.

    8-12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-99

There will be an Overall Female and Overall Male run awards. The awards presentation will be around/by 9:15 a.m. CST. Awards may also be before the 1-Mile Family Fun Walk. We have some flexibility to ensure it is a fun event.

There are no age groups for those who register for the 1-Mile Children and Family Walk portion of Splash of Color; however, for participants ages 0 - 7, a fun, award will be available (while supplies last).

    Registration Check-In

Please check in at the registration tables before the start times. The registration table will be located near the race start area. Check-in will begin at 7:00 a.m. (CDT). All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Proceeds from Splash of Color will help underwrite the fantastic early childhood education programs and services that start all children on a pathway to lifetime success, provided every day at St. Vincent Early Learning Center.

    Packet Pickup

Bib/Shirt pickup is at St. Vincent Early Learning Center (SVELC) on Friday, June 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (CDT). Bib/Shirt pickup will also be available at Garvin Park at/near the registration table on event day from 7:00 - 7:55 am (CDT). They will not be mailed to you.

    Volunteer Sign Up

We will need many volunteers to help prepare for the race (packets) and host the event on June 13, 2026 - registration table, chute directors, water handout, color throwers, clean up, etc. Volunteer signup is available (menu option above) through runsignup (LINK).

    Date & Location

The Splash of Color 5K and 1-Mile will be on Saturday morning, June 13, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.

The Race will start on Bob Griese Pass near where N. Main Street ends and goes east.

The course turns left onto Reis Ave and goes around the lake toward Pigeon Creek heading west.

Crossing over Richardt Ave onto the Greenway heading north and under Highway 66 (the approx.1/2 mile turn around for the Family Walk)

Staying on the Pigeon Creek Greenway until the turn around right before Stringtown Road, then return the same way.

    Timing

The race will be officially timed by “To the Finish.” Results will be posted at www.tothefinishtiming.com and on our runsignup page.

    Inclement Weather

In the case of inclement weather, the decision to race or not will be determined on the event day. There will be no refunds, but the purchased race shirts will be available for pickup at SVELC later. Information will be provided at that time.

    Strollers? Dogs? Etc.?

Strollers may be used in the 5K Walk or 1-Mile Family Walk, but in the event of inclement weather, please use caution to keep any children safe. While dogs are allowed in Garvin Park, dogs, cats, lions, tigers, and bears (any pets), as well as skates, skateboards, and scooters are not allowed in any of the races.
