****** This race will be an out and back and will begin and end at Montgomery and Second Streets in Owensville, Indiana, just down from the Owensville Community Center and in front of the Owensville Fire Department. Pre-race bib pick up available at the Watermelon Festival on Thursday and Friday evening.

On-site on-line race day registration from 6:00 to 7:00am CST (no t-shirt guarantee) $25.

    We are excited to see everyone in person this year at the 2025 Taking Steps for Autism Walk & 5K, sponsored by 14News, a fundraiser to support Autism Everyone.

    The event is being held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Vanderburgh County 4H Center, located at 201 E. Boonville-New Harmony Road, Darmstadt, Indiana 47725.

    **This event will be held rain or shine - there will be no reschedule date!

    Packet Pickup: Shirts and BIBS for 5K runners, and all shirts for families can be picked up on the following dates: Times are TBD.

    And Saturday morning, the day of, on April 18, beginning at 630a-7:55 for 5K, 6:30a-10:15a for Family 1 mile walk at the 4H.

    Course: The 5K will be an out and back. The Half course will take participants on a scenic and rural route through the countryside and through the small town of Stewartsville. Cut off time for the half marathon will be 3 hr 30 min. See map below for both.

    Cost:

    5K Cost $30 until 3/31; $35 until 5/15; $40 until race day (deduct $5 for medal only option)

    Half Marathon Cost $50 until 3/31; $55 until 5/15; $60 until race day (deduct $5 for medal only option)

    ​Start Time/Location: 7:00AM Central Time/Hopkins Family Park in Francisco, IN. Address is 7344 E. 250 S. Francisco, IN 47649

    Course: Each lap around the paved park path will be approximately 1.05 Miles in length. Participants can do as many laps as they want in the 60 Minute time period! If you start your last lap just before the 60 minutes is up, you can finish the lap.

    Cost: $35 until April 15; $40 until event (deduct $5 with no race shirt option).

    **All sales are final. Unless prior arrangements are made prior to race start,no shirts are guaranteed after race day.

    Race Day Check-In: There will be no early pick up for this event. On race day, check in will be from 6:15-6:45AM at the race location.

    Awards: Instead of awards, this race will give money back to participants! Here is how it will work. For every entry, $5 will go into the pot of money to be given out at race to participants. The more laps you do, the more money you can get back. Money given back will be anywhere from $1 to $35. We will have a better idea of how much money is in the pot closer to race day. Additional info will go out week of race to participants.

    Timing: The race will be for 60 minutes, we will count number of laps race via rubber bracelets given after each lap. When 60 minutes is up, participants will let us know how many bracelets they collected. From there, we will figure up who will get what amount of money. In the event of any ties, we will use the Wheel of Names website for tie breakers! Just an FYI, we have never tried a race like this before so bare with us as we hope everything works out as planned!

    Weather: The race will go on rain or shine! No refunds given if event is cancelled due to unforeseen weather conditions or a circumstance out of the hands of the organizers.

    Benefactor: Partial proceeds will benefit Hopkins Family Park.

    Come join us for our annual Fort Branch Zombie 5K Run or Walk as well as the Lil Zombie Kids Fun Run on October 31, 2026, at 9:00 am. 5K Run/walk starts at 9 am; Lil Zombie Kids Fun Run starts at 8:30 am. 5K runners and walker who pre-register by October 10, 2026, will receive a guaranteed t-shirt and a pass to the Sinister Cellar Haunted House.     Come join the fun in Fort Branch, Indiana, and enjoy a great 5K course and shorter distances for the Lil Zombies. But beware, you have the option to be chased by zombies on the course! Food truck and beverage trucks will also be present. And don't forget to come and enjoy the haunted house located at 599 E John Street in Fort Branch, hours of haunting Friday, October 30th and Saturday October 31st from 6-7 pm for no scare and from 7-10 pm for haunting!
