    DESCRIPTION

Global Running Day is our holiday; a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. We’re inviting all runners and walkers to join us to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line.

    Introducing My Big Run

My Big Run is personal. We understand each of you have unique goals, and we want to celebrate with you when you achieve them.

My Big Run is an inclusive celebration of getting out there and crossing your own finish line, despite the challenges we are all currently facing. We’ll provide the support, encouragement, and know-how to keep you motivated along the way. You’re about to gain a ton of new running buddies.

Help Us Give Back: Through our charitable arm, Do the Run Thing™, Fleet Feet has partnered with Girls on the Run and its SoleMates program so we can help more girls cross more finish lines. Why? Because everyone benefits when we support our kids.

Here are two ways you can help:

Become a SoleMate! SoleMates raise critical funds for Girls on the Run while completing a physical challenge. You don't need to be a star athlete to join—you only need to be a champion for the girls in their communities. Click here to learn more!

Donate to your local Girls on the Run council. Your donation will benefit Girls on the Run programs and participants in the Triangle community.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out [email protected].

Ready to run in the biggest Fleet Feet event ever? Welcome to The Big Run!

    Why The Big Run?

Because we want to bring running to more communities; we want more people to set goals and meet them; we want more people to experience that feeling of accomplishment as they cross the finish line.

    Because running changes everything.

Visit Fleet Feet Huntsville to see when the next local 5K training program begins! We're here to help.

About Fleet Feet: Committed to offering expert advice, intelligent products, personalized solutions, robust training programs, and 24 / 7 brand access at fleetfeet.com, each Fleet Feet location serves runners based on the belief that Running Changes Everything. #LetsGo.

About Brooks Running Company: Brooks Running Company sells its performance footwear, apparel, sports bras and accessories in more than 50 countries worldwide. Brooks’ purpose is to inspire everyone to run and be active by creating innovative gear designed to keep runners running longer, farther and faster. This purpose is supported by Brooks’ Run Happy philosophy, a quest to celebrate and champion the sport of running and all runners everywhere. Founded 1914, Brooks is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and is headquartered in Seattle. But speed isn't the only thing that counts. We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks. Let us recap the ways:

    • You get to join Fleet Feet communities across the country in doing something we've never done before—a nationally-coordinated 5K race taking place in different locations all on the same day.

    • It's on a Wednesday—who couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?

    • Every finisher gets a medal. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal.

    • We know some people. And some pretty cool brands (cough, cough, Brooks). Let's just say, we're planning some fun raffle giveaways and category prizes.

The Big Run coincides with Global Running Day and is open to runners of all levels and abilities.

Special thanks to our hydration partner, Nuun!

Nuun is a company dedicated to keeping you as hydrated as humanly possible. Their drink tablets are fizzy, tasty and loaded with electrolytes that keep you healthy and hydrated! Plop, Fizz, Drink, Go! Visit fleetfeethuntsville.com to learn more.

    Helpful Tips:

    • In this race morning video the Race Director walks you through race morning, parking, and spectator information.

In this transition and course instruction video the Transition and Course Coordinators walk you through what to do in transition and what to expect on the course.

    • Watch this full course video from 2023 to be fully prepared! Note that each year there may be slight changes to the course or setup to accommodate conditions.

    • Reminder that athletes will enter the pool by swim time (shortest to longest) to help manage congestion. Please be as accurate as possible with your swim time; you will have an opportunity to adjust your swim time closer to race day. It is acceptable to stop and hold the side or the rope, to stop and rest at each end, and to use a snorkel. If you feel you will stop during the swim, please factor that into your swim time. There will be lifeguards and volunteers around the pool. The practice swim will be a great opportunity to determine an appropriate time!

    • Need help training? Fleet Feet's Tri-101 program kicks off on May 19 and is designed to have you race ready for the Huntsville Sprint Tri. Sign up and get tips from some great triathletes and access to group training sessions!
