10 Miles Run Sprint Swim Triathlon Walk

Race Information

  • The 46th Annual Huntsville Sprint Triathlon is presented by Edward Jones.

  • Race Distance: 400 meter Pool SWIM / 8 mile BIKE / 3 mile RUN (bike and run lengths are approximate and vary from year to year based on course adjustments) - scroll down for course maps.

  • Both Individuals Participants and Relay-Teams are welcome!

  • PARKING: Navigate to 2223 Drake Ave SW to access parking; DO NOT navigate to the Aquatics Center!

  • Race start time is 7:30am. Cutoff times will be enforced: athletes must start the bike portion by 8:45am and the run portion by 9:45am.

  • As in 2025, the bike course will no longer have the sharp U-Turn on Triana Boulevard but will continue south to loop around the Public Safety Training Academy parking lot before heading back north on Triana Boulevard.

  • Athletes will be seeded according to reported swim time (this may and should be adjusted closer to race day).

  • Athletes may not enter the bike course without a buckled helmet and proper footwear and attire.

  • An athlete and spectator guide will be emailed closer to race day. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations of the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon and the Team Rocket Tri-Club may result in disqualification.

  • Registration will close Friday July 31, 2026, at midnight or when registrations reach 450 cyclists.

  • Your finisher swag consists of a super cool, soft, lightweight t-shirt. This will be picked up on site after you finish the run.

  • Race proceeds will be donated to local charities.

Tee Shirt Cutoff

Register by July 18 to guarantee your shirt size! We will order extra shirts but cannot guarantee you a shirt or the correct size unless you register by July 18.

Practice Swim

  • There will be a practice swim and race brief on Sunday August 2nd from 2:00pm - 4:00pm (time subject to change) at the Aquatics Center (2213 Drake Ave SW).

  • We'll discuss the race and transition outside in front of the building and then enter the building around 2:30pm for the practice swim.

  • You can swim the course as many times as you like until about 3:45.

  • This is a great opportunity to practice the long lanes and adjust your estimated swim time!

Packet Pick-Up

  • Thursday August 6th, 11am - 5:45 pm at Bicycle Cove, 5575 Highway 431 South, Brownsboro, AL 35741

  • Friday August 7th, 11 am - 6:30 pm at Fleet Feet, 181 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758

Helpful Tips:

  • In this race morning video the Race Director walks you through race morning, parking, and spectator information.

In this transition and course instruction video the Transition and Course Coordinators walk you through what to do in transition and what to expect on the course.

  • Watch this full course video from 2023 to be fully prepared! Note that each year there may be slight changes to the course or setup to accommodate conditions.

  • Reminder that athletes will enter the pool by swim time (shortest to longest) to help manage congestion. Please be as accurate as possible with your swim time; you will have an opportunity to adjust your swim time closer to race day. It is acceptable to stop and hold the side or the rope, to stop and rest at each end, and to use a snorkel. If you feel you will stop during the swim, please factor that into your swim time. There will be lifeguards and volunteers around the pool. The practice swim will be a great opportunity to determine an appropriate time!

  • Need help training? Fleet Feet's Tri-101 program kicks off on May 19 and is designed to have you race ready for the Huntsville Sprint Tri. Sign up and get tips from some great triathletes and access to group training sessions!
