5k 7k Run Trail

Sunday May 24, 2026 9:00 a.m. Wilmot Recreation Complex, Baden, ON

In beautiful Baden, Ontario, it's a great run on flat roads and trails.

Individual runs: 2.5k or 5k - the Neil Dunford Memorial, part road and part Schmidt Woods trail. Both timed, the 5k is two loops. There is also an untimed kids 200m.

Or spice it up with the individual Baden Back-2-Back - an individual race of a combined 7.5km. Start with the 5k race, then double down with a 2.5k 60 minutes later.

For the past 43 years, Wilmot Township has been home to a great spring running tradition. With various venues, courses, distances, charities, and even names over the years, one thing has remained - the passion and community support for a great event. We're thrilled to continue the tradition in 2026!

Run Waterloo: inspiring community through running.

    Why We Run:

Brain injuries are more common than we may think. In Canada alone, over 1.5 million people live with the effects of an acquired brain injury. Each year, 160,000 Canadians suffer a brain injury, and many of us know someone who is living with the long-term consequences of a concussion or more serious brain trauma. Whether from a sports injury, a car accident, a fall, or a medical condition, brain injuries can affect anyone, at any time, and their impact can be life-changing.

The Brain Injury Association of Waterloo-Wellington is dedicated to raising awareness, providing support, and advocating for individuals who are navigating life after brain injury. The funds raised at Lakeside Laps will directly support BIAWW's programs, which focus on advocacy, education, empowerment, and connection for individuals living with brain injuries and their families.

How You Can Make a Difference:

    • Raise Awareness: Every participant in Lakeside Laps helps bring attention to the need for better services and support for brain injury survivors.

    • Support Survivors and Caregivers: The funds raised will go directly toward programs like support groups, peer mentoring, mental health initiatives, and educational outreach.

    • Promote Brain Safety: BIAWW works to educate the community on the importance of brain safety, including helmet use and concussion prevention.

    • Foster Empowerment: From art programs to mental health resources, we empower survivors to live their lives to the fullest, no matter the challenges they face.

We all know someone who has been affected by a brain injury, whether it’s a friend, family member, or colleague. By participating in Lakeside Laps for Brain Injury Awareness, you are showing your support for those living with the consequences of brain injury and helping to ensure that they have the resources they need to thrive.

    Register Now:

Sign up today to be part of this incredible event! Your participation will make a real difference in the lives of those who are living with brain injury in our community.

Together, we can create a world where brain injury survivors are empowered to live full, active, and supported lives.

OPIC’s Pork for a Cause Hog Jog is a 3.5km run/walk and 10km run held each year during the Ontario Pork Congress. The Hog Jog originally began in 2005.

The 2026 Hog Jog is proud to support The Emily Murphy Centre, a Stratford based organization dedicated to supporting women and children who have experienced violence. The Emily Murphy Centre provides safe housing, counselling, advocacy, and outreach programs designed to meet the unique needs of women and children in crisis or after a crisis.

Demand for violence-against-women services continues to grow, practically in rural communities where access to supports can be limited. Increased awareness and community involvement play a critical role in ensuring survivors know where to turn for help. By partnering with The Emily Murphy Centre, the Hog Jog aims to shine a light on these essential services while helping to strengthen support for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Funds raised through the 2026 Hog Jog will directly support the installation of five donated tiny homes, a transformative project that will expand the Emily Murphy Centre’s housing capacity for families fleeing unsafe and life-threatening situations. Hog Jog proceeds will help cover essential infrastructure costs such as utility connections, enabling these tiny homes to become safe, fully functioning living spaces. This expansion will allow the Centre to provide refuge to more families while continuing to offer holistic supports including counselling, advocacy, and connections to community resources.

The Hog Jog planning committee is honoured to champion this important initiative and excited to bring the community together for a fun, meaningful event that creates lasting impact. Together, Hog Jog and The Emily Murphy Centre are working toward a safer, more supportive future – one step at a time!

The 19th annual charity run/walk and pork dinner will be held the evening of Wednesday, June 17th, 2025 at the Stratford Rotary Complex (353 McCarthy Road Stratford). This is a family fun event for runners of all ages.
