THE NORTHWELL ORTHOPEDICS GREAT GATSBY TRIATHLON

Long Island’s Gold Coast has a rich history of triathlon at the Town of North Hempstead Beach Park—and thanks to the support of the Town of North Hempstead, Race Awesome is bringing it back!

At Race Awesome, we never settle for the status quo. That’s why we’ve redesigned the bike course and introduced an all-new run course to elevate the experience. In addition to the Age Group Sprint Triathlon, we’re proud to host the Northeast’s only draft-legal race for high school and collegiate athletes.

Get ready for an unforgettable race day—because greatness never goes out of style!

Join the Major Taylor Iron Riders for our annual Bear Mountain Ride, a club favorite that delivers both challenge and reward. This ~80-mile A-level ride rolls along scenic 9W before tackling rolling hills and punchy climbs, culminating in the iconic ascent up Perkins with sweeping views of the Hudson Valley. Come prepared with your own food, hydration, and a well-stocked saddle bag. After conquering the climb, refuel with lunch. (NOTE: Lunch will be served after you after you descend from Bear Mountain, at The Cove Deli) Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

This is a fast ride along 9W, with SAG support. We’re also excited to welcome Best Buddies as this year’s sponsor! They will be sharing information about the organization, the work they do AND their upcoming rides. Best Buddies is an inspiring organization, like MTIR, committed to growing the cycling community.

Wristbands will be issued BEFORE the ride begins, so arrive early! Group photo to be taken so look your best!
