To wrap up Delt's 2026 Blue Out Week, Delta Tau Delta will host the inaugural Sugar Rush 5K on Saturday, February 28, 2026 around the Ole Miss campus. We couldn't be more excited to present a community-focused race with a twist! Local businesses will be set up with Sugar Stations at each mile marker during the race offering various sweets and treats as you continue your run/walk. Our fundraising goal from this event is $15,000. After covering our necessary event-related expenses, all proceeds will be donated to Breakthrough T1D, a non-profit committed to treating, curing, and preventing Type-1 Diabetes. With this race we bring students and community members together for a common cause, to conquer Type-1 Diabetes.

    Where - Race will be run through the town of Hickory Flat, MS on Saturday, May 2rd, 2026. There will be a 5K for all age divisions, as well as a 1 mile "Fun Run". Races will begin and end at the school gym parking lot on Spruce St.

    Registration -Same day registration will be available for $35.(T-shirts will be available in limited sizes and quantities) Registration will open at 7:00 a.m. Prizes: Awards to top male and female 5k finishers overall. The top 3 male and 3 female 5k finishers will receive awards in each of the following age groups:

    1-19; 20-29; 30- 39; 40- 49; 50- 59; 60+

    • Race officials reserve the right to cancel with no refund within two hours of start if severe weather is in the vicinity or forecast. In the event of bad weather, the race will be held on Saturday, May 10th.

    • Please do not bring any animals.

    Why - Funds from this event are to support activities within the Hickory Flat community as well as to provide resources to our local public school.
