Summer Sizzle Criterium Weekend - 2 VACA BAR Events

Brand new for 2026 is the Summer Sizzle Criterium Weekend! Two criteriums, both in Newport News and both apart of the VA Cycling Association BAR Series. Day one is the classic Todd Stadium oval course you have raced for years. Day two is a preview of next years Tour of Newport News Sunday event which sees us move from Fort Eustis over to Oakland Industrial Park just down the road. A variation of this course was used 20+ years ago for a weekly training series so we are excited to finally be returning.

Todd Sadium Criterium

Course: Flat ¾ mile course. We will be doing the long course with the two left turns out into the parking lot.

Location: 12465 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23606.

Registration: Register online at www.bikereg.com . Online registration closes at 8PM on Friday, July 24th. Day-of registration opens at 7:15 AM and is available for $40. A second race is just $20. Entry fees include $5.99 USAC fee and $1.00 VCA BAR fee. 2025 VACA Series Winners must pre-register and email the promoter their category to receive $7.00 entry. If you are a promoter of a race in the VACA series you are eligible for $7.00 entry and must pre-register and email the promoter with your category.

License: Beginner One-day and Annual licenses will be available for purchase on race day. Experienced riders must renew their annual license or purchase a one-day license online from USA Cycling. Race Licenses from other countries will not be accepted. Please ensure that you have a USA Cycling License.

Rules: All USAC rules apply. ANSI Z90.4 approved helmets are required to be worn whenever riding on or near the race course. No aero bars permitted in mass start races. No Cat 5/Novice riders permitted in Masters races. No refunds. Events held rain or shine, however the race directors and officials reserve the right to cancel the event in the case of severe weather as deemed necessary for safety.

Oakland Industrial Criterium

Course: Fast and wide ¾ mile D-shaped loop with two 90 degree turns.
