  • Funk Bottoms Gravel 100K\200K [funkbottomsgravel.com] [Register at bikereg.com]

    Sat, Jun 13, 2026 at 7:00 AM

The 16th edition of the Funk Bottoms Gravel will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Glenmont, OH. The 200K will start at 7:00 am and the 100K will start at 8:00 am.

    For everyone that said "one

year I will do the 200K" Well this is your last chance. Like the rules of Larry's favorite poker game, Shit or get off the pot.

This year there will be a limit of 100 racers for the Men's 100K and Men's Masters 100K. There will be no registration limits for Women, Single Speed, or the 200K.

Funk Bottoms Gravel will once again challenge cyclists to Ohio’s Toughest Gravel Grinder. As usual, we have come up with a very special course this year. Two races, one brutal course! A one-lap 100K race and for the ultimate challenge, a double-lap 200K race. The course will take riders along some of Ohio’s most scenic backcountry roads. On each lap, riders will be challenged with over 7,000 feet of vertical climbing! The 200K race is an Ohio epic. It is a relentless and grueling climber’s course.

The Funk Bottoms Gravel 100K/200K is a self-supported event and riders must be prepared for any mechanical and nutritional needs. No outside support is allowed. The course will go through small towns so you can resupply with food and water. Our good friends at Hammer Nutrition will once again be providing support with Hammer Fuels before the race, and at the secret checkpoint. Be prepared to ride 25-30 miles between water stops.

Road conditions are a mix of paved, chip & seal, and 80% gravel & dirt roads. Details on this year's course with maps, cue sheets, and GPX files will be posted in May. Keeping with Funk Bottoms tradition of not using the same route each year. This year’s race will be an entirely new course incorporating various roads from previous years along with some new sections. Funk Bottoms Gravel is a cue sheet race. The roads are open to normal traffic in the area. Expect to encounter cars, trucks, horses, buggies, farm equipment, ATV’s, buzzards, road kill, and the occasional farm dog at any given time. Rain or shine, it’s Funk time!

Registration will be $40 until April 26th, $50 after April 27th, and $80 after June 1st. All racers who register before May 31st will receive a T-Shirt. Racers who enter the 200K will be eligible to earn points for the Ohio Gravel Race Series. Registration will close on Friday, June 6 and there will be no race day registration.

The winners of each category will receive a custom trophy and a case of Yuengling beer. There will be awards for the Top 3 in Men’s 100K open, Men’s 100K Masters, Woman's 100K open, Woman’s 100K Masters, 100K Single Speed, Men’s 200K open, Men’s 200K Masters, Woman's 200K open, Woman’s 200K Masters and 200K Single Speed.

The Funk Bottoms Gravel the 200K will start at 7:00 am and the 100K will start at 8:00 am sharp at Glenmont Park 108 Main Street, Glenmont, OH 44628.

A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to the Holmes County Rails-to-Trails Coalition.

2026 Funk Bottoms Gravel Route will be posted in May 2026.

    !!!!!!!Start time notes!!!!!

In an effort to offer a safer and more fun race environment for all participants we are now starting Cat 2 and Cat 3 racers after Cat 1 and E Bikes have completed one lap. This greatly reduces conflict between very fast cat 1 and E Bike racers passing novice racers by nearly eliminating lap traffic. The posted start time of 12:40m for cat 2 & 3 is approximate. We will begin releasing the remaining cat 2 & 3 waves after Cat 1 racers go through scoring. Know your wave number!

    10am Cat3 Jr. Novice Races

You may have noticed that we are doing Cat3 Jr novice races early in the day and be asking "hey, what's up with that?" We want to give Jr's, and particularly novice Jr's the best race day experience we can. Separating the Jr. novice races to an earlier start allows us to do 3 things:

    • Fewer racers on course for the race.

    • For families where the one or both parents also race it gives the parents a chance to spectate and cheer their kids.

    • Novice Jr's get their own start, with more people cheering and spectating. Bring the cowbells!

USA Cycling Licenses, and NOMBS Series Championship rules & eligibility:

NOMBS is proud to be bringing a USAC sanctioned series to Ohio and be hosting the official USA Cycling Ohio MTB Championship. Partnering with USA Cycling helps us offer you a great series with structure, consistent categories & scoring, good insurance for landowners, and allows an opportunity for riders with goals outside Ohio to earn USAC points.

    USA Cycling Race Age:

Your “race age” is the age you will be on December 31st. This rule exists so that a person does not have to change the age group they are entering partway through a race season.

    NOMBS Series Championship Eligibility rules:

    1. A rider must have a current USA Cycling License (need not reside in Ohio).

    2. Must race in the season finale race.

    3. Scored on best 5 races.

    4. In the event of a points tie the season final race is the tie breaker.

Complete series rules can be found here.

    Description:

Just over 130 years ago at a farm house situated on the current property of Malabar Farm State Park, 24-year-old Ceely Rose poisoned her mother, father, and brother with arsenic. All three perished. After she confessed to the murders, she was sent away to the Toledo Asylum and then later moved to the Lima State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. There she lived her final days until age 61. Ceely was buried on the hospital grounds, but many say her ghost remains at Malabar Farm.

Are you brave enough to run 12 hours past Ceely’s home and through portions of Malabar Farm? Don’t let the peacefulness of the setting distract you…..Ceely could be right around the corner!

The course is approximately 2.25 miles of pavement, gravel, and grass. You will have 12 hours to complete as many laps as you can. It is a beautiful place to run, but you won’t be able to see the beauty in the dark so bring headlamps. As portions of the race are on the road, you will also need reflective/fiber gear.

A Team Relay option is also available, so bring up to 3 of your friends (or enemies) and share in the fun/pain!

We will provide an aid station along with porta pots at the start/finish line! You are encouraged also to bring gear to support your race (12 hours is a long time).

Awards to the top 3 finishers and a long-sleeved T to those who register by 10/07/2026. Some may even leave with a ghost story to commemorate this event!

Funds will be donated to the Malabar Farm Foundation to assist in preserving this historical landmark. We hope to see you there. After all, you don’t want to disappoint Ceely!

Space is limited, so register today!
