Healthy Kids Running Series Spring 2026 - Havertown, PA

The Broomall Rotary has been performing community service work since 1961. The race proceeds fund the Broomall Rotary's local charitable service projects.

The Broomall Rotary's Firecracker 5K is a 5 kilometer running event that will precede the Marple-Newtown 4th of July Parade. The parade and race day is Friday, July 4, 2025.

Packet Pickup: Saturday, June 29, 11AM - 2PM and Thursday, July 3, 5:30PM-7:30PM at the Running Place in Newtown Square, and 8AM - 9AM the day of the race at the race tent at Broomall Fire Company driveway apron.

The Sprint: 300meter swim, 9 mile bike, 5k run

The Super Sprint: 50 meter swim, 4 mile bike, 2 mile run

The Duathlon: 1 mile run, 9 mile bike, 5k run

The Aquabike: 300 meter swim, 9 mile bike, DONE!

If any of this seems daunting we have RELAY options for you and your friends. Yes, you and your friends can choose which part of the race to do and you can ALL cross the finish line together!

More Need To Know's:

• All swimming takes place in Historic Kelly Pool...NOT THE Schuylkill River

• The bike portion takes place on picturesque Martin Luther King Dr alond the river and is CLOSED to vehicular traffic.

• All running takes place around the Please Touch Museum and the Horticultural Center in West Fairmount Park

Lace up your running shoes and kick-off your morning with a 3 mile run or 1 mile walk for a great cause by supporting the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support at Saint Joseph's University! By participating in the Annual Kinney Walk/Run for Autism you are supporting individuals with autism, their families and students studying to work in the field. Thank you for making a difference!

Race Results: We have enabled the Racejoy app so that your results will immediately upload to our results page, get notifications of what mile you are at and your pace along with cheers. For more details click on the Racejoy option on the race menu. We'll send you directions once the race date approaches.

Race Awards: Divisional medals will be awarded to the 5K only.

Please join us on November 7, 2026 for the 15th annual Run For The Stripes event, presented by ... You can choose to participate in the 5k run or the 1 mile family fun walk.

We will have both an in person event at the Philadelphia Zoo and a virtual event.

Continued from prior years - You Asked, We Listened!! We are happy to offer Run for the Stripes merchandise for purchase again this year. We had a great response the last several years and we are continuing sales this year as well. You can choose to purchase merchandise at the time of registration, or feel free to come back to our site at any time and visit the 'Store' (click on the tab on the left side of the registration page). Merchandise is also available for purchase on the day of the event. All merchandise ordered by October 1 is guaranteed to be received before November 8th.

We are happy to once again offer RFTS hoodies and t-shirts in youth sizes for order this year. We are offering the ability to order youth sizes ONLINE ONLY in our hoodie and long sleeve t-shirts. We will be purchasing only the amount ordered. All orders must be in by October 1st to be guaranteed to be received before November 7th.

What is a virtual race? You pick the location, distance, and time and it's that easy! Once you register for the virtual event, we will mail you the event t-shirt a week before November 7, 2026. You can choose to run or walk, in an area where you are comfortable and safe.

Please note: You must register by October 1 to be guaranteed to receive your t-shirt for the virtual event by November 7th. Each registrant will receive a race t-shirt, if you register after October 1st, your t-shirt may arrive after the event.

Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for research for neuroendocrine (NET) cancers, a rare and hard to diagnose cancer. Proceeds from the race go to NET research to find better treatment options and hopefully a cure for this rare cancer.
