Eagle Ridge 5K / Half Marathon / 50K

To be guaranteed a long sleeve Eagle Ridge shirt you must be registered by January 15th, 2024. For runners who registered after 1/15, they will receive a long sleeve RunningLane shirt and if there are left over Eagle Ridge shirts after the race they can swap for them.

Please remember that all RunningLane Events trail races are "cupless races." You must have a hand held bottle, pack or or reusable cup as there won't be any paper cups at the aid stations to cut down on waste. If you don't have a reusable cup, there is the option to buy a RunningLane reusable cup at checkout for $5.

From the same directors of the Grand Viduta Stage Race, Wade Mountain & Wild Thangs Trail Series, we are excited to bring back the first ultra at Guntersville State Park! Guntersville is a magnificent 6,000+ acre park with over 30 miles of single track trails! Lake Guntersville State Park is also referred to as the most beautiful place in Alabama and the "Crown Jewel" of the Alabama State Park system. This course is very spectator friendly compared to most trail events. There are several park access roads to cheer on friends and family at multiple spots. There are several bluff views with beautiful mountain and lake scenery.

Check out this awesome video on Guntersville State Park to get an idea of the beautiful scenery! Fast forward to the 30 second mark.

Huntsville: 45 miles

Birmingham: 82 miles

Chattanooga: 90 miles

Atlanta: 135 miles

Packet Pickup

There will be packet pickup on Thursday February 5, 2026 from 12-5pm at RunningLane. RunningLane is located at 2407 Memorial Pkwy SW Suite 1, Huntsville, AL 35801. There will be packet pickup on Friday February 6, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Guntersville State Park Lodge. Packets may also be picked up the morning of the race on Saturday from 6:30am - 7:45am at the Guntersville State Park Lodge but we encourage you to get there as early as possible!

Shirts & Awards

The race shirt will be a long sleeve shirt given the typically cool February weather. Age groups will be ten years: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ for the Half Marathon & 50K. The 5K will have overall male and female only. ALL runners will receive a sweet finisher medal as seen in the pictures above (previous races).

Weather & Cutoffs

These are low-traffic trails, so we expect this race to go off rain or shine. In the event of severe weather (highly unlikely in February) we will delay the start as necessary to avoid lightening. If severe weather threatens the entire day and does not appear to let up, we may be forced to cancel. However this is not typical for this area during this time of year.

Average Temperatures: Low: 31F, High: 55F

There will be a cutoff for the 50K at 8 hours. This works out to be 15:28/mi pace. With the 50K course consisting of 2.5 loops, if the runner does not complete the final loop at the cutoff pace, they will be pulled from the event. The 5K and Half marathon do not have cutoffs. NOTICE the 5K race starts at 8:30am, 30 minutes after the 50K and Half.

    DESCRIPTION

Global Running Day is our holiday; a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. We’re inviting all runners and walkers to join us to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line.

    Introducing My Big Run

My Big Run is personal. We understand each of you have unique goals, and we want to celebrate with you when you achieve them.

My Big Run is an inclusive celebration of getting out there and crossing your own finish line, despite the challenges we are all currently facing. We’ll provide the support, encouragement, and know-how to keep you motivated along the way. You’re about to gain a ton of new running buddies.

Help Us Give Back: Through our charitable arm, Do the Run Thing™, Fleet Feet has partnered with Girls on the Run and its SoleMates program so we can help more girls cross more finish lines. Why? Because everyone benefits when we support our kids.

Here are two ways you can help:

Become a SoleMate! SoleMates raise critical funds for Girls on the Run while completing a physical challenge. You don't need to be a star athlete to join—you only need to be a champion for the girls in their communities. Click here to learn more!

Donate to your local Girls on the Run council. Your donation will benefit Girls on the Run programs and participants in the Triangle community.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out [email protected].

Ready to run in the biggest Fleet Feet event ever? Welcome to The Big Run!

    Why The Big Run?

Because we want to bring running to more communities; we want more people to set goals and meet them; we want more people to experience that feeling of accomplishment as they cross the finish line.

    Because running changes everything.

Visit Fleet Feet Huntsville to see when the next local 5K training program begins! We're here to help.

But speed isn't the only thing that counts. We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks. Let us recap the ways:

    • You get to join Fleet Feet communities across the country in doing something we've never done before—a nationally-coordinated 5K race taking place in different locations all on the same day.

    • It's on a Wednesday—who couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?

    • Every finisher gets a medal. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal.

    • We know some people. And some pretty cool brands (cough, cough, Brooks). Let's just say, we're planning some fun raffle giveaways and category prizes.

The Big Run coincides with Global Running Day and is open to runners of all levels and abilities.
