The Taco Trot begins and ends at the Guntersville Recreation Center and follows a scenic route along Lake Guntersville.

Participants will experience beautiful water views, fresh air, and one of the most scenic running routes in the region. The course is designed to be welcoming for both runners and walkers, making it perfect for seasoned athletes, beginners, families, and community supporters alike.

Post-Race Taco Celebration ...

After crossing the finish line, participants are invited to stay and celebrate with delicious tacos and refreshments while connecting with friends, family, and fellow runners.

The Taco Trot isn’t just about the race ... it’s about bringing the community together for a fun and meaningful cause.

About Family Services of North Alabama ...

Family Services of North Alabama works to strengthen families and restore hope through advocacy, education, and resource networking across Northeast Alabama.

Through two major program areas (Workforce Development & Education and Victim Services & Prevention), FSNA serves individuals and families across Blount, Cherokee, DeKalb, Etowah, Jackson, Marshall, and surrounding counties.

Workforce Development & Education ...

FSNA helps individuals and families build stability and independence through workforce training and family support programs.

Programs include:

  1. Workforce Development -- Helping individuals transition from SNAP services into the workforce through job skills training, certification programs, and assistance with items needed for employment such as boots and uniforms.

  2. Family & Career -- Supporting parents and relative custodians through parenting education, job training, certification opportunities, and a Pay-to-Learn model that allows participants to receive stipends while completing training.

  3. Internet Safety (iSafety) -- Educating students, parents, and community members about online grooming, human trafficking risks, and how to protect children from online predators.

Victim Services & Prevention ...

FSNA also provides critical services for survivors of violence and trauma.

Programs include:

  1. Prevention Education -- Delivering sexual assault prevention education to middle school, high school, and college students, as well as community organizations.

  2. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program -- Providing forensic exams for children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced sexual assault.

  3. Victim Services & Advocacy -- Offering legal, medical, and personal advocacy along with therapy and resource referrals for survivors of rape and human trafficking.

  4. Oversight of the Northeast Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force and operation of a 24-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Line.

How Your Participation Helps ...

Every Taco Trot registration helps ensure these services remain available to families and survivors throughout Northeast Alabama.

Your participation helps fund:

  1. Prevention education for students

  2. Advocacy and support services for survivors of violence

  3. Workforce development opportunities for families working toward stability

  4. Community programs that protect children from exploitation and trafficking

When you participate in the Taco Trot 5K, you’re not just running a race ... you’re helping strengthen families and restore hope across our communities.

    DESCRIPTION

Global Running Day is our holiday; a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. We’re inviting all runners and walkers to join us to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line.

    Introducing My Big Run

My Big Run is personal. We understand each of you have unique goals, and we want to celebrate with you when you achieve them.

My Big Run is an inclusive celebration of getting out there and crossing your own finish line, despite the challenges we are all currently facing. We’ll provide the support, encouragement, and know-how to keep you motivated along the way. You’re about to gain a ton of new running buddies.

Help Us Give Back: Through our charitable arm, Do the Run Thing™, Fleet Feet has partnered with Girls on the Run and its SoleMates program so we can help more girls cross more finish lines. Why? Because everyone benefits when we support our kids.

Here are two ways you can help:

Become a SoleMate! SoleMates raise critical funds for Girls on the Run while completing a physical challenge. You don't need to be a star athlete to join—you only need to be a champion for the girls in their communities. Click here to learn more!

Donate to your local Girls on the Run council. Your donation will benefit Girls on the Run programs and participants in the Triangle community.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out [email protected].

Ready to run in the biggest Fleet Feet event ever? Welcome to The Big Run!

    Why The Big Run?

Because we want to bring running to more communities; we want more people to set goals and meet them; we want more people to experience that feeling of accomplishment as they cross the finish line.

    Because running changes everything.

But speed isn't the only thing that counts. We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks. Let us recap the ways:

    • You get to join Fleet Feet communities across the country in doing something we've never done before—a nationally-coordinated 5K race taking place in different locations all on the same day.

    • It's on a Wednesday—who couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?

    • Every finisher gets a medal. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal.

    • We know some people. And some pretty cool brands (cough, cough, Brooks). Let's just say, we're planning some fun raffle giveaways and category prizes.

The Big Run coincides with Global Running Day and is open to runners of all levels and abilities.
