Elevate Mountain Running Camp

This race will serve as the end of the SSRS pointed season where series winners will be announced. Please be present to pick up awards.

This race is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club.

This races offers two distances on Emerald Mountain, 12k (ends up being closer to 7.75 miles long) and a 4 mile run. This scenic course will begin at the base of Howelsen Hill and tour Emerald Mountain through aspen lined single track. Hikers are welcomed in the 12k. A relatively new event to close out the Steamboat Springs Running Series season, bringing people of all ages together to celebrate Halloween in a safe, sober and fun way.

The Foundry Treatment Center provides an opportunity for lasting recovery through an integrative body, mind and spirit treatment program. Comfortably located in the majestic Rocky Mountains of Steamboat Springs, The Foundry provides a safe and natural setting that encourages instinctive growth for the individual as they forge a new life in their own vision.

The course takes place on a mix of trail and road that is guaranteed fun for the whole family. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged! Leashed dogs are welcome to join too. There will be homemade Halloween treats after the race as well as fun for the whole family…bobbing for apples, face painting and games!

Description

The courses are spectacular 50 and 100 mile runs through the beautiful mountains and fall colors of the Routt National Forest of northern Colorado. The 100 mile run will also run through lovely Emerald Mountain.  The 50 mile race starts bright and early at 6 am at the Steamboat Springs ski area (elevation, 6,900 feet) on Saturday, September 14, 2024 and proceeds up, up, up to Mount Werner (elevation, 10,568 feet) then goes up and down and up and down some more and then across the Continental Divide to Rabbit Ears Mountain (elevation, 10,500 feet) before heading back and way down to the ski area. The 100 mile course will also start at the base of the ski area and encompass Buffalo Pass (elevation, 10,300) and Emerald Mountain, with a few nice little hops through town.  It will be tough.  Tortoises will start Friday, September 13, 2024 at 9 am Hares at 1 pm also on Friday.  For those of you that are Rabbit-fast, our 100 miler will offer real prize money, $75,000 in total, with a guaranteed $15,000 to the winners. We also have a Team Challenge with $5,000 to the winning team! Please see the website for details.The 50 mile course will have nearly 9,000 feet of climbing. The 100 mile course will have approximately 22,000 feet of climbing.  Both courses will test the endurance and spirit of any runner, whether you’re a tortoise or a hare.

Course

The Run Rabbit Run courses are very much like life, in that there are many, many little and not so little ups and downs in between the obvious highs and lows. Be prepared. Any resemblance between the 50 mile course profile and rabbit ears is purely coincidental.
