The Gobbler Classic 5K Run/Walk

The Illiana Christian Pancake Pacer 5k is a great run benefiting the Illiana Christian Athletics Department. All proceeds go towards new uniforms and additional equipment for our athletic programs. The race begins and ends at Midwest Ice Arena (10600 White Oak Ave, Dyer, IN 46311). Following the race, each runner is invited to Illiana Christian High School where a free pancake breakfast will be provided to all runners. Here, winners will be announced and given medals for the following age groups: 19U, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up. Every registered runner will receive an Illiana personalized backpack. "We Fight Together" Walk/Run – FREE to participate – Create a fundraising page and set a goal. Participants who raise a minimum of $100.00 will receive an event t-shirt and a gift bag.

On the morning of Saturday, June 6th, 2026, runners and walkers will come together at Wicker Park in Highland, Indiana, for the fourth annual "We Fight Together: Drug Poisoning/Overdose Awareness 3K Walk/Run." This event unites the community in the fight against the devastating impact of drug poisoning and overdose by honoring lives lost, supporting those affected, and promoting awareness, education, and prevention.

All funds raised will support Sounds of Sarah Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing prevention, education, and advocacy focused on the dangers of illicit fentanyl, counterfeit drugs, and addiction. Our mission is to raise awareness of the nationwide opioid epidemic, provide prevention services, and ensure the public has access to life-saving information and resources. Beyond the tragic fatalities caused by drug poisoning, countless nonfatal overdoses occur, leaving lasting emotional and economic consequences for families and communities. With fentanyl poisoning remaining the leading cause of death among individuals aged 18 to 45, as reported by the CDC, this crisis demands urgent action.100% of donations directly support Sounds of Sarah's programs, including Link4Life and the EMBRACE program, expanding resources and outreach to save lives. All donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law.

The Community Outreach Ministry believes that there are many within our community who may be in need of some support. We also believe that we can make a difference by providing supplemental food to our neighboring communities. We support these neighboring communities by need rather than by parish borders. In addition, the race provides an opportunity for runners (and walkers) to come together on a Saturday morning to exercise and then break bread over breakfast.

NOTE: Children under 8 can participate in the race and breakfast for free with a signed up adult.
