Welcome to the Bradbury Badass Races Get ready for this beautiful challenge and the conclusion of the Bradbury Trail Running Series, where finishers earn the coveted Badass Hoodie as a badge of honor. There are two race options to choose from. Both will earn you a Badass Hoodie if you are completing the series, but only the Half-Pint 25K counts toward the Bradbury Trail Running Series standings and overall awards.Formerly part of the Big Brad Ultras, this event has evolved into the Bradbury Badass Races. In the Half-Pint, runners will tackle a 15.5-mile loop that’s a gauntlet of classic Maine singletrack. This journey takes you on both sides of Bradbury Mountain State Park—over Tryon Mountain, around the powerlines and Elwood Loop (better known as “Snowman’s Loop”), and back into the park for the finish.Expect tough hills, rocks, roots, and very little flat, including a 1/2 mile of paved road and 1/4 mile of dirt road. The Pounder 50K is the same course—just twice the fun. Two laps. Same
terrain. Higher stakes. If you’re a true glutton for punishment, you can finish the series with the Pounder instead of the Half-Pint. It won’t make you eligible for the series title, but it will make a statement. So why not finish the series with an ultramarathon? Registration Cap The Pounder 50K is capped at 80 runners. The Half-Pint 25K is capped at 120 runners. If the Half-Pint reaches capacity due to runners completing the Bradbury Trail Running Series, the cap may be adjusted at the discretion of the race director to allow all eligible series finishers to register.Once a race reaches capacity:• Registration will close• No additional entries will be accepted• No wait list• No bib transfers — NO EXCEPTIONS• Pounder runners may drop down to the Half-Pint prior to registration closing, but no refunds will be issued for the difference in entry feesThese limits ensure a safe and enjoyable experience and accommodate limited parking at Bradbury Mountain State Park. This event is about quality, not
quantity. Race Day Schedule Race Start: 8:00 AMRegistration / Bib Pickup: 7:00 AM – 7:45 AMAll runners must check in prior to the start. All registered runners will receive their race-specific T-shirt at registration. You must be present to receive your shirt. Race Rules / Trail Etiquette The final race cutoff is 10 hours (6:00 PM). This allows up to 5 hours per lap for Pounder (50K) runners. Any Pounder runner who does not complete the first lap within 5 hours will be recorded as a DNF and will not be allowed to continue onto the second lap. Half-Pint runners may use the full 10-hour cutoff window to complete their race.Be respectful of other trail users. The park is open to the public. Yield when appropriate and communicate clearly when passing.Stay on the marked course. Please do not litter. Pack out anything you bring onto the course. We ask runners not to wear headphones so they can hear volunteers, race instructions, and fellow runners on the trail. No dogs are permitted on the course or
in the event. While we love our four-legged trail companions, dogs are not allowed to participate with runners during the race for the safety of runners, volunteers, spectators, and the dogs themselves. Pacers No pacers are allowed for this event. Drop Bags (50K Only) Pounder runners may place one drop bag at the central aid station. This is ideal for changing shoes, socks, nutrition, or gear between laps.• Clearly label bags with your name and bib number• All bags must be retrieved after the race• Any unclaimed bags or items will be donated• Trail Monster Running is not responsible for lost or damaged items. Aid Stations There will be two fully stocked aid stations: PT Cruiser’s, located in the start/finish field, and Snowman’s, located on Lawrence Road at the Tryon Mountain trailhead parking lot.Runners will pass each aid station twice per loop. The longest distance between aid stations is approximately 6 miles.Aid stations will be well-stocked with a mix of hot foods, sweet and salty
snacks, fresh fruit, and a variety of drinks, including water, electrolyte mix (Tailwind Mandarin Orange), soda, coffee, and broth.Trail Monster aid stations are simple, reliable, and runner-focused, staffed by experienced ultra runners who know how to keep you moving.
