MCRRC First Time Marathon (FTM) Program

Welcome to the registration page for the MCRRC YOUTH RUNNING SERIES!

This site will be used to register for and track the participation of MCRRC members who are aged 17 and under, participating in our non-competitive, non-timed youth races specifically designated as part of the year-long low-key race series.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• MCRRC membership is REQUIRED for a runner to receive a Youth Running Series award; however, participation is open to all.

• Registration is required for each participating child, in each youth series race.

• You may register your child for more than one race at a time.

• PARENTS: You do NOT need to register for the Youth Running Series runs if you would like to accompany your child!

• If your child does NOT participate in a race that you signed them up for, please contact office@mcrrc.org to have the registration removed so it does not count toward your child's Youth Running Series for the year. This is only applicable for MCRRC members.

• You may access this form at any time throughout the year to sign your child up for additional, participating races.

The Pike’s Peek 10K is one of the Montgomery County Road Runners Club’s premier racing events. The USATF-certified 10k race, known as a "PR course," starts at the Shady Grove Metro Station and finishes on Rose Avenue, just south of Montrose Road. Celebrate with food, family activities, music & exhibits at the post-race festival hosted by Pike & Rose! The race starts promptly at 7:50 AM.

MCRRC Members automatically receive a $3 discount (applied in your shopping cart upon successful verification of club membership). The discount will apply to the 10K race only.

Kids on the Run and the Kids Marathon are non-competitive running events for children and young people age 17 and younger. Participants can choose from these four distances based on their age and ability: The event will feature 100m Toddler Trot, Half-Mile, One-Mile and 2K Kids Marathon events.

All events take place on the paved trails of Bohrer Park in the City of Gaithersburg. Participants do not run on roads. There is a ‘rabbit’ runner who will lead the participants in each event. There is also a ‘sweeper’ who follows behind for each event insuring everyone makes it back to the finish line. There are multiple opportunities to see and cheer for the youth runners!

Get ready to raise awareness for mental health during Mental Health Awareness Month with EveryMind’s EveryMile for EveryMind 5K and 1K Fun Run/Walk on May 10th. Join us in Rockville Town Center to support our mission while enjoying a morning of fun and connection, including a 100-meter kids’ fun run for the little ones. Every step you take helps EveryMind continue our work across Maryland and the DC metro area, providing support and resources to those in need—including students and families, veterans, immigrants, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those in crisis.

All proceeds go toward strengthening our community through mental health services, education, and crisis support. Your participation directly benefits programs that make a difference in countless lives.
