You've never seen horse country quite like this!

Get inspired by some truly great racers: the Triple Crown Trot 5K is a chip-timed road race* that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at world-famous Ashford Stud, home of Triple Crown champions American Pharoah and Justify.

Your race route runs entirely inside of Ashford Stud, taking you from the historic office and stallion barn to the foaling barn and beyond. With yearlings running in the paddocks along your path, you'll either be inspired to hit a new personal best - or you'll get some great selfies!

*Course is mainly paved road, but does include a stretch of grass path - see course map below

Either way, you'll be supporting a great cause: all proceeds benefit Woodford Humane Society and the animals who call it their temporary home.

Run or walk at your own pace - all experience levels welcome! We can accommodate strollers, however please note: the course includes a stretch of grass path as it has in previous years. If your stroller can handle it, so can we!

Race-Day Registration Opens at 7:00 am; Race Start is 8:00 am.

For the safety of the horses, this race cannot accommodate pets. Thanks for understanding!

    Age Divisions: 0-9 | 10-14 | 15-19 | 20-29 | 30-39 | 40-49 | 50-59 | 60-69 | 70-79 | 80+

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group!

What is "Scratched"? Can't make it on race day but still want to support Woodford Humane and score a race shirt? Register as "Scratched" - you won't run the race, but you will get the goodies.

Shirts cannot be guaranteed after July 31. Register early for the best deal and all the perks!

On Saturday August 22, 2026, DMTL Nonprofit Organization will host the Annual A Healthy KSU 3K & Health Fair. Our vision is to decrease the health disparities within and among KSU students, alumni, and the Frankfort community, bridging gaps to help achieve Health Equity!

Kentucky State University alumnus and A Healthy KSU and DMTL founder Tyrie Nason Buchanan noticed a large number of his classmates and younger KSU alumni were losing their lives to health-related issues far too soon. DMTL is a 501c3 nonprofit organization focusing on health equity and mentorship and bears the initials of Buchanan’s mother and brothers whom he lost to gun violence. He made a pledge to do something to highlight healthy lifestyles while also promoting inclusivity for historically marginalized communites.

A collaboration and partnership with DMTL, Kentucky State University, KSU National Alumni Association, the City of Frankfort, local hospitals, and community based organizations, was born and evolved into an official 3K and Health Fair event. Six successful events have been held raising funds to support cancer care and research, awarding KSU students with scholarships, providing various health screenings and health education campaigns to the African American community.

Compared to their white counterparts, African Americans are at higher risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, prostate cancer, triple negative breast cancer, poor maternal and infant health, asthma, stroke, obesity, and lack of access to medical doctors. Alumni, family, and guests are encouraged to come together with purpose to bring awareness of the health disparities in the African American community so that we can build sustainable outcomes for generations to come.

Together we can connect and grow community while providing education, resources, and support to continue closing the health gaps to help our friends, family, and communities thrive.

Stay after the 3K for A Healthy KSU’s annual Health Fair and enjoy FREE health screenings, FREE food, music, giveaways, activities, and award presentations.
