Up, Up, and Away 5k

Join us for our FOURTH annual “Keyed Up 5k” walk/run on FRIDAY, April 24th, at 8pm, sponsored by the Vocal Patrons Association at GlenOak High School!

Our 5k is a relaxed evening event and walkers, joggers, and runners of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us! The 2026 edition features a return of last year’s popular "GLOW MODE", powered by neon, loud colors, and your own energy and style as you run, walk, or crawl along the course starting and ending at GlenOak stadium.

Back this year is the "fun run" for kids 12 and under who aren't ready to walk or run through the 5k!

This year we are moving away from timing all runners, and focusing on moving, music, and celebrating our choral arts programs together. The top 3 men and top 3 women runners will have recorded times and receive trophies, and all other participants will note their own times as they cross the finish line and join the celebration!

Vocal Patrons Association raises funds to support the vocal arts programs at GlenOak, and 100% of money raised goes to provide direct financial support for the choral programs throughout Plain Local Schools. We hope you will join us as we move in harmony together!

Join us for an unforgettable adventure that starts on Nimishillen Creek and ends at Gervasi Vineyard! Start at Martindale Park with a 1.5-mile kayak trip to the Middlebranch Trailhead at Spangler Ave, NE. Once you’re ashore, continue the excitement with a 2.5-mile run or walk to Gervasi Vineyard. Cap off the race with a pour of wine or a strawberry sage lemonade at the finish line and celebrate the day by enjoying the beautiful grounds of Gervasi Vineyard. Don’t miss this unique race experience combining nature, fitness, and fun! *Perfect for all experience levels.

Join us in making a difference! The proceeds from this charitable race will support Cleveland Clinic Mercy Mission Outreach Food Insecurity Program. Your contributions will help fund our biweekly outreach efforts, where prepared meals and vital health information are distributed to neighborhoods in need throughout Canton. Together, we can provide food and hope to the homeless, children, and individuals facing food insecurity. Every step you take helps us nourish our community and promote healthier lives for those in need.

The Raider Run is a fundraising event that supports the Junior ROTC program at Green High School in Green, Ohio and is a fun family event for ALL!

The Raider Run consists of the following:

• 3K Terrain Run through Southgate Park with 12 obstacles that will test your strength and stamina....and when you make it to the end, you will be sliding down the GIANT 150 foot slip-n-slide! Two things are guaranteed: you will get messy, and you will HAVE FUN!

All ages are welcome, and accommodations will be available for anyone unable to complete an obstacle. Race participants will be sent onto the course every 15 minutes, and you may select your start time during registration.

• 1 mile Veterans Honor Walk -- If a leisurely stroll is more your style, sign up to participate in the 1 mile Veterans Honor Walk at 11am. This walk is dedicated to the men and women that have served our great country, and a portion of all proceeds will go directly to supporting local veteran organizations including SAM Center (Serving Area Veterans) and The Veterans Advisory Commission of Green.

And of course, you can always sign up to participate in both! If you select this option, you may select any available start time for the obstacle race, and will then walk the Honor Walk at 11am.

Spend this Independence Day at the Raintree 4th of July 5k, the second race of the 2026 The Great Eight Race Series. Green's Great Eight Race Series brings eight local 5k races together with the joint goal of raising money for nonprofits and charities in the City of Green. All proceeds go to First Tee of Akron. The Raintree 5k and Fun Run takes runners around the beautiful Raintree Golf Course in the City of Green. Enjoy the fast fairways, gorgeous golf cart paths and friendly neighborhood streets.

Times:

• 5k race: 7:30 am

• 1-mile Fun Run: 8:00 am
