Rise N Shine 5K Run/Walk

This is the 10th year for our Jefferson County Humane Society 5K walk/run. The money raised during this event will go towards the animals in our community. The race course is challenging, but fun when you bring your best friend along.

This year, the race will be a GLOW run/walk! Walkers will have a start time of 8:00 PM, and the runners will follow with a start time of 8:15 PM.

Registration on the day of the event will open at 7:30 pm. Free T-shirt with registry only until June 6th.

Packet pickup will be held on race day from 7:00 pm to the start of the race.

Can’t make it to the walk/run, but want to help out? Sponsor a dog in the shelter to get to go for a walk/run during the event! Go to the donate button at the top of the page to donate. You can also purchase a luminary in honor of, or in memory of, a special pet or a person. The luminaries will have the pet or person's name on them, and they will light the finish line of the course. Hosted by The Dean Martin Association, Steubenville Parks and Recreation, the Jefferson County General Health District and supported by The Friends of Beatty Park, this race will be run on two nature trails - the Purple and Red trails at Historic Beatty Park. It will include dirt trails in wooded areas with small bridges, a creek crossing, as well as a few small natural obstacles. The race will include up hill areas and a short loop in the adjacent historical Union Cemetery.

Race day registration starts at 7:30 am.

Awards will be given to the top finisher in each age group in the run and walk:

19U

20 - 29

30 - 39

40 - 49

50 - 59

60 +

Tot Trot participants will receive a medal.

Last day to register and guarantee a t-shirt is May 31st.

This is a sensory friendly, inclusive, untimed, FUN RUN! Anyone that completes the entire course will receive an award. There will be several color stations throwing bright powder, a foam station, and bubble stations! This year is our 21st year anniversary celebration and we will be throwing Augusta Levy a birthday party prior to the race from 3-5 PM. We will have inflatables, balloon animals, face painting, music, and more!

The race itself begins at 5 PM. The route will begin at the waterfront and cut onto the trail to avoid any roadwork and construction. All participants that pre-register by June 1st will receive a shirt, sunglasses, and an Augusta Levy Autism Ambassador sticker. Pre-registration stays open online until June 19th, but T-shirts will not be available after the May 31 deadline. Registration will be accepted day of, but t-shirts will not be available. We are so excited for another year of the Spectrum of Color 5K Fun Run, benefitting the Shawn Ramsay Autism Scholarship, with a 21st year birthday celebration included!

12:00 PM - Race Day Packet Pick- Up and Day of Registering

3:00 PM - Augusta Levy 21st Year Birthday Celebration with inflatables, face painting, balloons, cake, music, and more!

5:30 PM - Spectrum of Color 5k Fun Run Race Start

Start time is 8am.

Pre-registrants $25.00 per person. Race Day registration is $30

All pre-registrations must be received by Tuesday June 16th by midnight to get a shirt

You may also register 1 hour prior to race time on race day.

The entry fee will help support the 4th of July committee, a non-profit, volunteer organization.
