Lace up your running shoes and hit the pavement with us as we raise awareness about child abuse, sexual assault, and mental health in our community by participating in the Braveheart CAC 4th Annual Superhero 5K Run/Walk!

Registration includes a t-shirt if registered by March 18th!

Event Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM: Community Resource Fair with our Community Partners

  • 10:00AM: 5k Run/Walk

  • 11:00AM: Complimentary Kids Fun Run *

*Kids Fun Run will start at 11am or after the final 5k finisher has finished the course

Highlights:

  • Awards will be given to all 5K participants, with special recognition for the overall top three finishers (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place).

  • Enjoy family activities and various booths featuring exciting "Minute to Win It" games!

  • All kids participating in the fun run will receive a goodie bags!

  • Wear your superhero costume and help us make a difference in our community!

    This chip timed 10k starts and finishes at the Putnam County Junior High School located at 13183 N 350th Ave, McNabb, IL 61335. It is an out and back 10k on nicely paved county roads surrounded by beautiful country scenery. It is possible to see deer, turkey, and eagles while running. The course is a mix of hills and flat areas. Water stations will be available on the course. Strollers and walkers welcome, but please no headphones. There will be volunteers at each mile marker and intersection for traffic control, but the course will be open to local traffic. Emergency crew coverage available. There is a two-hour time limit on the course. Post-race food and beverages provided. Race sweatshirt guaranteed to all participants who are pre-registered by October 11th, 2026. After that and through race day, a sweatshirt is not guaranteed.

    Packet Pickup and race day registration starts at 8:00am in the school cafeteria

    Entry Fee: $40 through September 27th, 2026, $45 September 28th through race day. Members of the following clubs: Starved Rock Runners, Lake Run Club, Prairie State Road Runners, and Springfield Road Runners who register online will receive a $4 discount.     Wobble before you gobble on Thanksgiving Day by joining in on The 2025 Thanksgiving Trail Trot in Sheffield, IL!

    Dress in your best "Thanksgiving" costume, with a chance to win the prize for Best Costume!

    The untimed race will begin at 8:00 AM, with the start and finish lines located at Homecoming Park (West Park).

    The race route is primarily on wooded trails and approximately 2 miles long.

    All ages and skill levels are welcome!

    Although we do love pets, please leave your furry companions at home.
