2026 Greencastle Flyers Spring Youth Track & Field Club

Our Mission:

Our Spring Club is designed to introduce children presently in Grades 1st - 6th to the sport of track and field. Event specific instruction for hurdles, relays, throws, sprints, jumps and distance running will be covered during our 4 week session. Overall strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, speed and agility will be increased through drills and appropriate activities.

Our club athletes will be encouraged to participate in local track & field or cross country events on alternate evenings during the week throughout late spring and summer. All athletes will gain a better understanding and appreciation for the sport of track & field.

    Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

    Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

    Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

    Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

    Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

    Our Rock the Run 5K started in 2015 to celebrate our 60th Diamond Anniversary of The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission and to bring the community together to help raise support and awareness for the homeless and hungry in our community.

    Rock the Run 5K allows us to bring businesses, runners, walkers, competitors, and volunteers together to have fun, share some laughs, run or walk a few miles, and raise money for those in need. This year's fundraiser will help us convert our front porch into a 4-season emergency weather shelter.

    We encourage our participants to have fun with costumes and accessories and show us your pirate or princess side! We'll be making this event a little more exciting with some pirate & princess-themed touches to everything. But most importantly, we want you to have fun because you're supporting a great cause and doing something amazing for our community.     This event will be held at the Bowman Business Park in Williamsport, MD…..just minutes from PA, 20 minutes from Martinsburg, WV and Frederick, MD and 90 minutes from Baltimore and DC. The races will start and finish in the parking lot area between the two Breweries, Cushwa Brewing Co and Interchange Tiki Bar & Brewing. The event will include a kids .50 mile fun run, a 5K road race (runners, walkers, families invited), a 21 & older Beer Mile, Tiki-tizer mile. There will be an after-party that will start at 11:00am and end around 3pm. Participants have the option to sign up for all 3 races, the 5K, Beer Mile, and TIki Tizer races as the events do not overlap.

    **Please Note: We do not offer refunds or deferrals. You may purchase race insurance before you complete your registration to protect your race entry fee.
