2/4/26 - WEATHER UPDATE

Lingering ice and snow has resulted in unsafe route conditions. To err on the side of caution and to keep everyone safe, the 2026 Valentine Greenway Challenge has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 28th at 10am. If you are a registered participant, please check your email for further information.

The Valentine Greenway Challenge returns in 2026!

Black Mountain Recreation & Parks (BMRP) is excited to announce that it will be partnering with the Black Mountain Greenways & Trails Committee again in 2026 to present the 4th Annual Valentine Greenway Challenge on Saturday, February 28, 2026. This race combines the fun and creative spirit of the annual Valentine 5K with the dynamic course and wonderful cause of the Greenway Challenge.

The 2026 Valentine Greenway Challenge will consist of a 5K on a newly-designed course, beginning near the picnic pavilion at Lake Tomahawk. By combining resources, both organizations hope that more funds and awareness may be raised to support the Black Mountain Greenways.

All sponsorships, donations, and 50% of registration fees will be donated back to the Black Mountain Greenways & Trails Committee. Funds will be used towards replacing the greenway bridge along the Oaks Trail at Veterans Park.
