Bieg Pamięci Żołnierzy Niezłomnych jest formą uczczenia pamięci żołnierzy polskiego podziemia antykomunistycznego i antysowieckiego, działających w latach 1944–1963 na terenie przedwojennej Polski. Symboliczny dystans biegu – 1963 metry – nawiązuje do roku, w którym zginął ostatni Żołnierz Niezłomny, Józef Franczak ps. „Lalek”.

Józef Piłsudski Institute of America invites you to participate in the run/walk:

Please register each participant separately, providing their personal details and email address, so that each participant can be assigned a unique race number.

Children’s Participation:

The run for children up to 12 years old will take place immediately after the adult run, on a shorter distance; children will not receive the memorial medal, but a medal in the children’s version will be provided.

Parents are responsible for supervising their children during the run.

Children aged 5–12 may participate free of charge with registered parents.

Cursed Soldiers Memorial Run commemorates the memory of the soldiers of the Polish anti-communist and anti-Soviet underground who operated between 1944 and 1963 in the territory of pre-war Poland. The symbolic distance of the run - 1,963 meters - commemorates the year 1963, marking the passing of the last Cursed Soldier: Józef Franczak, also known as “Lalek”.

    Race Start Time and Location:

On 4/11/26, NYTri is coming to Brooklyn to host our 37th Annual Spring Duathlon in Prospect Park. Prospect Park is always a special place for us because we are from Brooklyn! In 2024, we have added the entire outer park look for your second run, all 3.3 miles (5k). We are racing the same course once again this year. Your final lap of the run will be around the big loop completing all 3.3 miles, with a total of 140ft elevation gain. Be ready because the hill to the Grand Army Plaza is no joke!

Here is what you can expect on race day. At 7:30 am the race will start in Lincoln Field by the triangle grass area by the Well House Dr (E Lake Dr and Lincoln Rd entrance).

Run #1 beginning at 7:30 am is a fast loop around the park’s inner circle. Athletes will set out along East Dr and make a left through Center Dr, where you will cut across the park, exiting west side. With little gain in elevation you’ll head around Prospect Park Lake where you will pick up speed as you head in for the bike.

The bike route consists of 3 loops totaling 10 miles around Prospect Park Drive. As athletes make their way up to the Grand Army Plaza you will encounter the full PP hill on the front end and a HUGE downhill on the back of each loop. After 3 of these loops make sure you save energy to take on the same course for the run!

Run #2: The final leg of this course! Athletes will run the entire 3.3 mile PP loop. Finishing the run course with a 140ft+ elevation gain. Athletes will cross the finish line at the same place we started, in Lincoln Field.

Remember to read our Race FAQs if you haven’t done so.

    Prospect Park Spring Duathlon distance:

Run distance is 2.1 miles (small loop).

Bike distance is 10 miles (3 laps).

Run distance is 3.3 miles (full loop).

    Volunteers:

You are needed from 5 am to 11 am. Our races start at 7:30 am unless stated the otherwise. Once you arrived, report to our Race Director Victor. He will go over your race duty as well as where you need to be. Don’t leave until the race is finished. You have to sign out to earn your race credit for your next race.

The Prospect Park Spring Duathlon is not USAT certified or sanctioned. USAT racing license isn’t required to compete in our race.

    [runningcrews.com] [runningcrews.com] - Instagram

GoldFinger Track Club (GFTC) is a unique and diverse running collective with deep roots in New York City, founded in March 2016 by Jerry. Born from a winning relay team, GFTC operates with a distinct structure: they are a global crew with no regular weekly meetups, allowing members to run freely and come together only when it matters most—for events, races, and parties. They have a dual mission: to unite a diverse group of athletes, from elite underground racers to beginners, and to have a positive impact on their community by building new runners from the ground up, especially in Brooklyn.

WEPA is an inspiring and motivating running movement that was founded in New York City in the summer of 2016. Their name is a powerful double entendre: it is an acronym for their core values—Work-Excel-Persevere-Achieve—and "¡Wepa!" is a popular Hispanic cultural exclamation of joy and excitement. The crew was created to inspire those intimidated by running and to help people run their very first mile. They have since cultivated a supportive "family atmosphere" where members hold each other accountable and celebrate every milestone along the way.
