    ZDU - CHASE THE NIGHT

    PHASE ONE TRAINING GROUNDS

    Phase One training grounds are bare bones, raw and real. Staged out of multiple areas in Spokane to include the Reardan Cross Country track in Seven Mile, Riverside State Park, and Mt Spokane State Park, all providing beautiful and challenging opportunities to forge holistic strength.

    INSPIRATION

    This a part of the Phase One Mission. A bare bones, self supported, invitation to move through the dark to appreciate the light. No firsts, No lasts. Zero Dark Ultra is an invitation to embrace the quiet darkness to reflect and find gratitude and hope while running or rucking through the night. This event is more than a race. It is an invitation to train for adversity, define resilience, and find hope, leaving no one behind.

    L.O.S is more than a race. It is a Phase One Mission - an invitation to train for adversity, define resilience, and find hope, leaving no one behind. L.O.S is an opportunity to maintain Line Of Sight and search for strength within. The beautiful part of this challenge is that everyone taps out, and invitation to humility.

    RACE DESCRIPTION

    Starting at 7 AM, you will run a 4 mile route every hour on the hour until there is a Last One Standing.Your challenge ends when:1) You do not make the 4 mile distance prior to the start of the hour.2) You hit your limit, with your chin up, tell the Race Director "I am tapping out".No Pacers allowed for this event.You will receive your well earned Phase One patch, only given to willing individuals who endure a Phase One Challenge.

    COURSE DESCRIPTION

    You will run 2 laps of the 1.56 mile course plus a lil extra out and back to make the 4 miles. Yes, that means you will hit the hill 3 times every hour. If you don't know what the hill is, please find out! It's a lil reminder you're still alive. Elevation gain/loss per 1.56 mile loop - roughly 80 feet

    COURSE MARKING

    One course marker as the turn around point to make the 1.56 mile track a 4 mile loop.

    The aid station will have food and drink options but the runners are encouraged to self support.

    STAGING GEAR

    Feel free to camp out and start staging your gear on Friday, after 6PM. Please do not start staging gear prior to 6 PM, since nobody will be there to direct staging and parking. Personal gear/tents can be staged along the start line. Personal vehicles need to be parked in front of the portable toilets. Race Director will assist once you show up. Thanks!
