In August 2019, Trojan created a WhatsApp group with friends Dee and Jules. A simple text thread became Emancipated Run Crew, born from a conversation about the missing faces at London races. They saw a sport that didn't reflect the city around it and decided to change that. Now around 20 members gather weekly for 5K to 10K runs that weave through Regent's Canal, past street art, and into neighborhoods most running routes skip. Beginners and marathon veterans run shoulder to shoulder without hierarchies. Every run is both fitness and statement. During Black History Month, the crew organizes a celebration run that honors excellence while raising funds for causes that matter. Emancipated Run Crew transforms running into an act of belonging.
