RUN, WALK & WHEN ONE SPORT IS NOT ENOUGH, JUST DU IT!

Time to dust off the cobwebs and start the multi-sport racing season with the 42nd Annual Spring Classic Duathlon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K! It's time to see who stayed in shape all winter!

Choose the Duathlon or any of the 3 different running distances, and let's Spring into Action!

    DUATHLON - 5K RUN / 12.91 MILE BIKE / 5K RUN

The Spring Classic Duathlon is a great opportunity for triathletes to shake off the winter-season rust and for the duathletes to get in an early-season race.

It will be a flat & fast course...perfect for those new to the sport of Duathlon and Triathlon! And for you veterans, this will be a fabulous opportunity to go all out and see who stayed in good condition this winter!

There are no railroad tracks on the bike route – just 12.91 miles of smooth pavement ideally suited for fast times. The course is virtually flat, and for the novice athlete, the sense of safety from not having to be overly concerned with vehicle traffic makes this event an ideal introduction to the world of multi-sport racing.

Spring Classic Half Marathon, 10K & 5K - This beautiful, flat and fast course along the pancake flats of the Vancouver Lake Regional Park is a wonderful event to set as a goal to keep your conditioning strong through the winter and spring cold and rainy seasons!

Our start/finish location at the Vancouver Lake Regional Park will allow us to relax and share our racing stories once we all finish! We will have high-energy music, fun vendors, food, and who is ordering the sunshine?!

Enough Hibernating! Wake up, Get out & Race at the Spring Classic!

The Portland Triathlon Club presents an awesome opportunity to practice your triathlon skills in a non-competitive environment: The Annual Mock Triathlon.

PLUS! Join us for a ‘Mock the Mock’ event, which will include a course preview the morning of Sunday, May 3rd at Lake Vancouver. You are welcome to this free event for a self-paced or group course preview coupled with a ‘fix a flat’ workshop to cover basic bike maintenance and get us all set for the Mock Tri the following Saturday. Stay tuned for more details as we near the date.

This is an excellent training event - allowing you to see where you are in your triathlon fitness, as well as offering first-timers the opportunity to try the sport in a supportive environment.

This is a “mock” triathlon, not a formal competition with finisher medals and official timing. It is a learning race where all participants see demonstrations, attend clinics, and go through a Sprint or Olympic distance triathlon. Everyone has a chance to “tri" in a safe healthy atmosphere.

This is event is for participants 18 years of age and older. Current members are all welcome to participate! If you are not a current member of Portland Triathlon Club, you can purchase a day-of membership. Current members receive $10 off. We have TWO registration windows this year. We have "early bird" pricing from March 9 - May 2 and will increase the price for the week leading up to the event from May 3 - May 9.

After the event, stay and celebrate with the PTC at our BBQ.

There will be two distance options, which you will choose on event day. You can choose to try a sprint-like distance and an olympic-like distance.

The purpose of the day is for you to either try the sport, or to fine tune your skills before you summer races.

    Approximate distances include:

Sprint - Swim 500 meters, Bike 10 miles, run 3 miles

Olympic - Swim 700 meters, Bike 20 miles, run 5 miles

Not comfortable with swimming? We will have swim support that includes kayaks, SUP's and swim angels (experienced swimmers that can swim beside you).

The course for bike and run are out and back, so you can choose the amount of laps you complete. The course is flat and fast.

Join us for the 43nd Annual PDX Triathlon Festival at Blue Lake Regional Park and kick off the summer racing season. The fun begins on Sunday where athletes compete on our scenic, flat and fast course in either the Super Sprint, Sprint or Olympic Distances. NEW: A 5K on Sunday or try our Paddle Triathlon for those of you who would rather kayak or paddle-board! Relay options are great for friends, family & co-workers!

The Annual PDX/Blue Lake Triathlon was started by the Portland Triathlon Association and Frank Goulard, who is still an active, local Masters Triathlete. He participates in many of our events so come on out and meet the legend, the man who started it all for us here locally!

This weekend festival offers an Olympic and Sprint Distance Triathlon, Duathlon & AquaBike, and a Super Sprint course that offers shorter distances for those new to the sport or just going for pure, raw speed. The Super Sprint is also a great event for our Junior Triathletes!

Recognized by NW triathletes as the “must do” event to open the triathlon season, the PDX Triathlon encompasses two full days of racing (Kids races & Sunset 5k on Saturday & Super Sprint, Sprint & Olympic races on Sunday) including a Sports & Fitness Expo. Triathlon Clubs from across the NW gather to launch the MultiSport season.

The bike courses are flat and fast, with the majority occurring on a section of Marine Dr that is closed to all but local traffic. This makes the course one of the safest and fastest in the region.

PARKING IS INCLUDED WITH REGISTRATION COST.

The modern sport of triathlon had its modest beginnings with an event held in Mission Bay in San Diego, CA on September 25, 1974. There were 46 athletes that day. Seven years later, Hagg Lake Triathlon became one of six stops on the Bud Light Triathlon Series Tour drawing about 500 athletes, with Dave Scott coming out on top. Today, as one of the nation’s oldest and longest-running triathlon events, Hagg Lake enters its 38th year and it continues to draw upwards of 700+ athletes. Its popularity is rooted in the rich tradition and the exceptional venue, which is one of the most scenic in the country. The Hagg Lake course offers a true test of this terrific sport with its rolling hills on both the bike and run leg portions of the event. Make the Hagg Lake Triathlon & Off-road Endurance Sports Festival one of your summer stops and compete on the course that has seen many of the greats in the sport of triathlon.
