This unique Transplant Australia event is a great way to connect with other transplant recipients, people waiting for a transplant and their families in a supportive environment. A great opportunity to build sporting skills, learn and participate in physical activity that is all inclusive.
Join us to learn at our education session, hear of the experience of others who have had a transplant, show our respect and care at the Donate Life Remembrance Service, refine your abilities, get expert guidance, and enjoy the journey of learning and growth through sport.
Event details and schedule
We are so excited to meet with you and provide events over what will be a great weekend to connect with others. We encourage you to participate in as much as you can over a weekend of diverse activities. This will be an all-inclusive event with an encouraging atmosphere.
Itinerary:
Friday 12th June
9:30am-11am - Connect & Education Session
Meet at the Goanna Room, Level 2 Acute Block, Townsville Hospital. Morning Tea included. Come and hear the experience of others who have faced dialysis and transplant, learn about supports that exist, Transplant Australia and living well after a transplant.
Saturday 13th June
9:45am meet for a 10:00am - Lighthouse Park, Palmer street, Townsville (Meet for a catch up over a light morning tea, prior to walking to the Yacht Club on the Marina for the Donate Life Remembrance Service). Followed by lunch (at own cost).
2:00pm-4:00pm - Townsville Sports Precinct. A time of enjoying warm ups, coaching and multisports in a family friendly all abilities environment.
5:00pm-7:30pm - Lawn Bowls & a BBQ dinner at Cutheringa Bowls Club
Sunday 14th June
9:00am-11:00am - Walk & Talk - an opportunity for exercise, meeting other transplant recipients and people on dialysis) whilst sharing in good conversation and a cuppa.

Ready to explore Sydney’s parks and urban bushland in a whole new way?
Whether you’re a confident navigator or just curious about giving orienteering a go, the Saturday Orienteering Series is your weekly chance to get outdoors, discover hidden pockets of nature, and build your skills one map at a time.
How you take part is entirely up to you:

Or wander the course with family and make it a relaxed weekend outing
New to orienteering? Perfect. Each event includes clear maps, beginner‑friendly courses, and friendly guidance to help you get started. Just arrive in comfortable activewear and bring a sense of curiosity.
Saturdays become fresh air, gentle (or fast) exploration, and the fun of navigating through parks, reserves, and pockets of urban bushland you may never have noticed before.
Come along, get moving, and discover something new.

Start Window: 9:30am to 11am (start any time within this window)
Courses: Warm Up (recommended starting course for beginners), Short Line, Long Line, and Score. If you're not sure which one is best, we can work it out on the day! If you want more, entrants are also welcome to run multiple courses on the day.
SPORTident timing is used for all courses. If you do not own a SPORTident card, please hire one when entering.
Normal entry fees:
Adults - $18 (members -15%)
School Students - $15 (members -15%)
(a $2 late fee applies if entering after midday on Thursday before the event)
Timing card hire - $4 per entrant
Prices include GST and merchant fees.
Orienteering club members can claim the member discount through the use of the promo code "ONSW" at the checkout.

The Sydney Striders 10K Series, sponsored by Pace Athletics, is a series of
10K road races run over scenic courses around Sydney. The venues are
Sydney Olympic Park, Lane Cove NP and North Head NP.
Races are held on the first Saturday of the month from February to November
except for May. Race 4 of the 10K Series is the Sydney 10 which is organised by Athletics NSW.
Visitors aged 12 and over are welcome to enter. The races are free for members of Sydney Striders Road Running Club.
(Strider members do not need to register).
The races start at 7.00 with a 60m time limit. There is an early start option at 6.30 for slower runners.
Registration includes on the day prizes, post race refreshment results and professional photographs.

This spectacular fast and flat parkway run has 10km, 21km and 42km courses on offer.
Winding along the Parramatta River, only 30 minutes west of Sydney CBD, the course takes in the sites of George Kendall Riverside Park, Meadowbank Park, Rhodes Point, and Newington Nature Reserve using the Parramatta Valley shared use path.
With stunning river views showcasing the beauty of this area, it’s one not to be missed!
