    Swim, bike, and run to support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh! Open to young athletes of all ability levels*, ages 7-15. The Habitat Pittsburgh Youth Triathlon is designed to be both

    accessible for newcomers and competitive for experienced young athletes.

    Our family-friendly race includes additional activities like a tie-dye and Lego build stations for participants and sibling spectators. All finishers receive a medal and trophies are awarded to the top three for each gender and age bracket.

    *Must be able to swim, bike, and run independently.

    Event details and schedule

    Race Course

    Habitat Pittsburgh’s Youth Triathlon race course is age-dependent. The full course map and details are available at habitatyouthtri.org. On race day, athletes should arrive at 7am for check-in/registration. A brief opening ceremony will begin at 7:45am, and the first heat will start at 8am.

    Ages 7 – 9

    • Swim 50 meters

    • Bike 1.5 miles

    • Run 0.5 mile

    Ages 10 – 12

    • Swim 100 meters

    • Bike 2.4 miles

    • Run 1 mile

    Ages 13 – 15

    • Swim 400 meters

    • Bike 7 miles

    • Run 2 miles

    Pre-Race Info Meeting

    A Pre-Race Information meeting will be held the evening before the race – Friday, July 17 at 6:00pm at the North Park Pool. You'll get a preview of the course and our Race Director will be onsite to answer any questions. This info meeting is not required, but is recommended for first-time participants.

    Athlete Fundraising

    For 25 years, the Youth Triathlon has supported Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh’s affordable homeownership and home repair programs for low-income families. Athletes are encouraged to fundraise to support our mission to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Plus, the top fundraisers receive a gift card from Pro Bike+Run!

    Please note:

    • Helmet and bike required for all athletes.

    ** Refunds unavailable. Any canceled registrations will be considered a donation to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh.

    *** There will be no rain date if this event is canceled due to inclement weather. All registration fees will be considered a donation to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh. We will make every effort to work around any adverse weather conditions on race day, through adjusting start times as necessary. (We have never had to cancel the event due to weather.)

    The Greenfield Glide runs through a hilly Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The race begins and ends at the turn-around on Overlook Drive by the Oval Park Shelter, after taking a running tour of the beautiful trails of Schenley Park through the majority of the course. Presented by the City of Pittsburgh Office of Special Events in partnership with the Greenfield Community Association.

    Run for the Rec is a 5k race through McKnight Village neighborhood to benefit our community-owned park! Donations go toward our long-term goal of replacing the playground, as well as short-term

    projects like planting trees and installing a sandbox.

    Participate for fun (untimed walk) or get competitive (5k running division, and 5k rucking division). Strollers and families are welcome. For those competing for time, 53 medals will be awarded across a variety of age groups and categories.

    Stick around after the race for raffles, refreshments, live music and games for the kids!

    WHERE: Sunday, June 7th at 9am in the McKnight Village Rec, located at the end of Henderson Road.

    REGISTRATION: Registration remains open until 8:30am on race day.

    ARRIVAL TIME: We recommend arriving by 8:30am.

    PARKING: Free in the rec. Arrive between 8 - 8:30am on race day and follow parking volunteers' instructions for parking.

    PACKET PICKUP: Friday, June 5th (5-7pm). If you are not able to pick your bib, shirt, and bag before race day, you can also pick it up the morning of the event. However, we strongly encourage you to pick-up on Friday.

    Kids of STEEL is coming to a park near you this summer! MOVE with us at four different local parks. Each camp session will be full of fun, fitness games, and much more to keep you active and smiling

    this summer!

    Each session is FREE and limited to the first 100 participants ages 6-13.

    Drop-off/Check-in for each session is at 8:30 AM.

    🏃 During the camp session, kids will play fitness games, activities, and more. The camp takes place outdoors, so make sure your child is dressed for the weather and wearing appropriate footwear to be active in.

    In the event of inclement weather, we will contact you the evening prior via email about any changes/cancellations.

    💧 We recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. Water and small snacks will be available during breaks, and you are permitted to pack your own.

    The Connecting Champions Charity Run is held in memory of Victoria Ondo-Burnfin, who was a Connecting Champions intern and mentor. Victoria was a source of inspiration–teaching us to chase our dreams
