Join us for a no‑pressure triathlon training day designed for every athlete—whether you’re gearing up for a 70.3, an Olympic distance, or just want to tackle one or two disciplines. Swim, bike, and run at your own pace with zero expectations and no medals—just you, your goals, and a supportive community. All swimmers must use a buoy, and while the day is self‑supported, the club will provide on‑course nutrition and bike support to keep you moving strong. It’s the perfect chance to train, test your limits, and enjoy the journey.
Olympic and 70.3 distances routes, or pick any of the things you want to do.
Swim in Lake Michigan (swim course may vary depending on lake conditions)
Bike around Beverly Shores and Porter County (two loops for 70.3)
Run around Beverly Shores (two loops for 70.3)
Start and transition at Kemil Beach (A national park pass is required)
FREE Training day for all NWI Tri members.
All non-members must purchase annual NWI Tri Membership below for $45

This is a training event, and not a race. There is no pressure to complete all swim/bike/run. Want to just swim? Want to aquabike? Want to do one loop of the run? You pick. There will be no timing, no awards, and no race swag. NWI TRI will provide cold water, Gatorade endurance, and some nutrition at Kemil beach parking lot.

A fun and challenging triathlon for your little ones to compete in! Open to children ages 5-14, kids will swim, bike, and run their way to the finish line. After crossing the finish line, enjoy activities inside the track, support and congratulate fellow racers, and attend the awards ceremony for the top winners of each age division.
The SBVPA 2026 Kids Triathlon promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for children throughout the entire northern Indiana region featuring a 50 yard swim*, 1 mile bike ride, and 1/2 mile run. There will be one swimmer per lane, per wave and lifeguards will be on duty and in the water to ensure the safety of all participants. For ages 5-8, one guardian per swimmer is allowed on the pool deck.
No refunds for this event. Proceeds will benefit South Bend Venues Parks & Arts Youth Scholarship Program.
*Age groups 5 - 6, 7- 8 will be participating in a 25 yard swim.

Safety Information
Children of all ages and abilities are able to use flotation devices and training wheels in the 2026 Kids Triathlon. For safety, refrain from using inflatable life jackets and water wings. There will be coastguard-approved life jackets provided by South Bend Venues Parks & Arts.
For the biking portion of the triathlon, helmets will be required for all ages.
Awards
At the end of the running portion, each athlete will receive a medal after crossing the finish line. The top 6 athletes in each age group will receive a trophy.
Please note that early bird registration will end May 31 at 11:59pm and the 2025 Kids Triathlon will cost $30/participant starting June 1.
Rain date is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Choose Your Challenge:
Sprint Triathlon: Start with a 500 yard swim from the a sandy shore on Barron Lake, followed by a 15 mile bike ride through the picturesque countryside, and conquer a 3.1 mile run around Barron Lake to the finish line. Perfect for those looking for a challenging yet achievable race. You can take on the Sprint Triathlon individually or as a Relay Team.
Kids Triathlons: Inspire the next generation of triathletes with our fun and engaging Kids Triathlons!
Competitive Kids Tri: Young Triathletes will test their skills with a 25yard swim, a 1.2 mile bike ride, and a .5 mile run. Great for kids with some triathlon experience.
Non-Competitive Kids Tri: A fantastic introduction to the sport! Kids will enjoy a 25 yard swim, a 1.2 mile bike, and a .5 mile run in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.
