Choose the right session
Beginner
For children who can ride on their own and are building confidence and core skills.
Advanced
For confident riders ready to improve control and learn more advanced techniques. Your child may be suited to this session if they can:

ride one-handed for 20 metres

stand up on their bike and pedal while maintaining control
-
ride over small obstacles (e.g. bumps, curbs or tree roots) without putting a foot down.
Not sure? You can select a session, and coaches will help guide the right level on the day.
What to bring:

A bike in good working order

A helmet

A water bottle

Comfortable clothing

Closed-toe shoes.
Location on the day
Meeting point: Oval or Basketball Court
School access: Front School Gates

About the program
The NSW Government’s Get Kids Active program, helps children build the confidence and skills to ride safely and supports more families to walk and ride to school. These bike skills sessions are delivered by AusBike as part of the program.

Since its inception in 2016, the Bowral Classic has become a staple
in the cycling calendar, offering riders of all levels an unforgettable
experience through the picturesque landscapes and charming towns
of the Southern Highlands.
Choose from three road cycling courses on Sunday, 18 October 2026 - 150km Maxi Classic, 120km Challenge Classic or the 85km Rouleurs Classic.

This October, over the course of one unforgettable week, push your limits on a self-supported 1260km course with 17,700m of elevation, on a mix of sealed and gravel surfaces.
The route runs in a giant loop from Wollongong on the stunning NSW South Coast along awesome country roads, Aussie bush, rivers and scenic valleys, and up into the majestic Snowy Mountain Alps.
Riders must complete the course within 157 hours, navigating the route, getting their brevet card stamped at each of the 3 Checkpoints along the way.
Entrants have the choice of entering as:
Solo, Pairs Team or 4-person Relay Team.
However you decide to ride, this epic challenge requires riders to be well prepared and manage rest and resupply along a fantastic route to complete the course.
Comprehensive information is provided to all entrants - The Loopers Almanac - detailing all the information you will need to successfully complete the challenge.

The Run Havoc Wollongong Running Festival entered a new and exciting chapter with Race Hub Australia announced as the new event owner and delivery partner. We can't wait to bring this event back to you for 2027 and beyond.
Join us at Lang Park for the Wollongong Running Festival on Sunday, 6 June 2027! Choose from a 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km, or 2 km Family Dash.
Since being rebranded as the Wollongong Running Festival in 2021, the event has gone from strength to strength and become Wollongong's largest running event. The festival is widely recognised for celebrating freedom of running and Wollongong's active coastal culture, attracting runners of all abilities from across the region and beyond.
Participants enjoy a vibrant event village, cheer squads, live music, and a spectacular course that weaves together trail and coastal paths with stunning ocean views. The event is both family-friendly and professionally delivered, with accurately measured and timed courses that cater to everyone from fun runners to serious competitors.
All event finishers will receive a 2027 Wollongong Running Festival-themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways, and an online finisher's certificate.
