The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, Central Coast Running Club and PLAY, Inc. invites you to lace up your running shoes and join us for the Must-Dash Family 5K! This community event welcomes runners, walkers, families, strollers, and participants of all abilities.
The loop course will begin at the Hagerman Sports Complex and guide participants
along the scenic Multi-Purpose Trail off Skyway Drive and Broadway.
In the spirit of the holiday, grab your father figure and get active this Father’s Day, whether that’s a dad, guardian, grandparent, mentor, coach, or anyone who’s made a positive impact in your life. Participants are encouraged to show their spirit by sporting a mustache, real or fake!
Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome!

Are strollers welcome? Yes. We strive to make this event as family friendly as possible. Please be courteous to other runners by moving toward the back of the group at the starting line. **Registration fee for children that are riding in a stroller are free with a paid adult fee. ** You DO NOT have to register the child in the stroller **

Join us on Saturday, July 18, 2026, for the 56th annual Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Fun Run and the 12th annual Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon, starting at 8:00 AM.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Central Coast, both events begin at Morro Rock and take runners along the shoreline for an unforgettable beach-running experience.
Event Options
Rock to Pier Fun Run (6 miles)
Run from Morro Rock to the iconic Cayucos Pier, finishing right at the pier. This beach run is open to all ages and abilities—perfect for seasoned runners and first-timers alike.
Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon
A challenging and scenic out-and-back course starting at Morro Rock, heading to the Cayucos Pier, and returning south. At mile 10.5, runners will detour through Cloisters Park before finishing back at Morro Rock.
Course closes at 12:00 PM.

Ryan’s Ranch Run is a community-driven 5K, 10K, and Kids Mile hosted at the breathtaking Thousand Hills Ranch in Pismo Beach—Ryan Teixeira’s family ranch and the heart of his legacy. This unique event blends scenic running routes with a meaningful mission, raising funds for Central Coast Athletics Foundation (CCAF) and 17 Strong, an organization founded in Ryan’s honor to provide Victory Trips to young adults battling life-threatening illness.
Runners and walkers of all ages take on a mixed-terrain course with rolling hills and the spirit of community all around. Race day begins with the inspiring 17 Strong Victory Lap, followed by the Kids Mile and the 5K/10K races. Each course will be held on beautiful properties or various partner vineyards across the country giving you a rare opportunity to view and tour a vineyard like no other. With the option to choose between a 1K or 5K course, or both, there’s something for everyone. Along the 1K course, you’ll find four sampling stations where you can enjoy world-class wines from the partner vineyard. And if you complete the 5K course, there will be a complimentary glass of wine waiting for you at the finish line.
