    Join The Rec & Parks Department for a night full of fun and love! Create some delicious personalized pizza with your partner while enjoying some fine wine, donated locally from Allan Hancock College. After pizza making, sit down, eat, relax, and enjoy some live tunes.

    The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, Central Coast Running Club and PLAY, Inc. invites you to lace up your running shoes and join us for the Must-Dash Family 5K! This community event welcomes runners, walkers, families, strollers, and participants of all abilities.

    The loop course will begin at the Hagerman Sports Complex and guide participants

    along the scenic Multi-Purpose Trail off Skyway Drive and Broadway.

    In the spirit of the holiday, grab your father figure and get active this Father’s Day, whether that’s a dad, guardian, grandparent, mentor, coach, or anyone who’s made a positive impact in your life. Participants are encouraged to show their spirit by sporting a mustache, real or fake!

    Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome!

    • Event check in is starts at 7:30 am.

    • Diaper Dash begins at 8:30am.

    • Must-Dash 5K begins at 9:00 am.

    • Are strollers welcome? Yes. We strive to make this event as family friendly as possible. Please be courteous to other runners by moving toward the back of the group at the starting line. **Registration fee for children that are riding in a stroller are free with a paid adult fee. ** You DO NOT have to register the child in the stroller **

    • Are dogs welcome? We realize dogs are very much a part of many people’s families, and they are welcome in this race. Please be courteous to other runners by ensuring your dog is on a leash.

    Run the Coast. Honor a Legacy. Experience the Central Coast at its Best!

    Join us on Saturday, July 18, 2026, for the 56th annual Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Fun Run and the 12th annual Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon, starting at 8:00 AM.

    Set against the stunning backdrop of the Central Coast, both events begin at Morro Rock and take runners along the shoreline for an unforgettable beach-running experience.

    Event Options

    Rock to Pier Fun Run (6 miles)

    Run from Morro Rock to the iconic Cayucos Pier, finishing right at the pier. This beach run is open to all ages and abilities—perfect for seasoned runners and first-timers alike.

    Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon

    A challenging and scenic out-and-back course starting at Morro Rock, heading to the Cayucos Pier, and returning south. At mile 10.5, runners will detour through Cloisters Park before finishing back at Morro Rock.

    Course closes at 12:00 PM.

    Race Day Details

    Both events start at 8:00 AM

    Water/Aid Stations throughout course!

    Expect wet shoes—this is a true beach run!

    Post-race breakfast and awards at Morro Rock

    Bus transportation provided from Cayucos Pier back to Morro Rock for Rock to Pier participants

    Parking is limited in Cayucos; ample parking available at Morro Rock (arrive early!)

    Dogs are not allowed on the course due to Snowy Plover nesting season

    Ryan’s Ranch Run is a community-driven 5K, 10K, and Kids Mile hosted at the breathtaking Thousand Hills Ranch in Pismo Beach—Ryan Teixeira’s family ranch and the heart of his legacy. This unique event blends scenic running routes with a meaningful mission, raising funds for Central Coast Athletics Foundation (CCAF) and 17 Strong, an organization founded in Ryan’s honor to provide Victory Trips to young adults battling life-threatening illness.

    Runners and walkers of all ages take on a mixed-terrain course with rolling hills and the spirit of community all around. Race day begins with the inspiring 17 Strong Victory Lap, followed by the Kids Mile and the 5K/10K races. After crossing the finish line, participants enjoy a lively festival with live music, local vendors, delicious food, raffle prizes, and family-friendly fun.
