    Vital Run Club

The first runs were on a climbing gym wall, not a road. Vital Run Club grew from a crew of rock climbers at Party Rock gym in Brooklyn who wanted to take their energy outside the chalk dust and into the streets of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. Founded in July 2024 by Drew, the group has grown to around sixty members united by a simple idea: run to stay connected and have a good time. There are no pace requirements, no entry thresholds, just a Monday night at 19:00 where multiple pace groups move together through familiar blocks, then filter into local coffee shops and restaurants afterward. The crew's climbing gym roots show in how they treat running as a social act first, a performance metric second. Recovery, mobility, and showing up for each other are baked in. At sixty members, Vital Run Club operates as a genuine community rather than an organization, where Drew still knows most people's names and new runners find their pace without pressure.
