    Iguaçu Run

Three friends started meeting at Praça Castro Alves on Tuesday evenings in November 2023, seeking simple community and a reason to move. What began as neighborhood runs has become Nova Iguaçu's largest running crew, now 200 strong and growing. Iguaçu Run operates on a philosophy that running is healing: a space for people navigating loss, illness, isolation, and life's turning points. Every Tuesday at 7:30 PM, the crew gathers for free coffee beforehand, collective training across sprint, tempo, and easy paces, and free water after. Parents, students, professionals, LGBTQ+ athletes, beginners, and competitive runners train together, each pace respected equally. The crew was founded on the belief that running together means showing up for each other beyond the kilometers.
