    Treetop Adventures and North Carolina Boys Academy are hosting a MAD DASH Challenge (300m swim, obstacle course & 5k) and Fun Run on May 17, 2025. All ages are welcomed to participate in this family-friendly event. Treetop Adventures is an outdoor adventure park situated on Lake Hickory in Conover, NC. Course offerings include tree-lined challenges for both adults and children.Treetops is partnering with the North Carolina Boys Academy to help families thrive. NCBA is an adolescent men’s boarding school for character and leadership development.

    Come out to Valdese and join us for the 50th running of the Great Waldensian Footrace to celebrate the Festival of the Glorious Return. A long-running staple of the August race calendar, the Great Waldensian Footrace features a 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, surrounded by the Historic Valdese Festival. All participants & guests are invited to take a cool, post-race swim in the Valdese Community Pool. Enjoy local crafts, food, and great entertainment throughout the day.

    Day of race registration is available from 7:00am to 7:45am. Race entry fees are $20 through March 1st; $25 from March 2nd through July 31st; and $30 through August 6th. Race day entries are $35.     We are excited to bring you the Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon presented by Trane Technolgies! This is a USAT sanctioned event in Davidson, NC. It features a 750 meter swim, 12.7 mile bike, and a 5K run. Located on the beautiful campus of Trane Technologies, it's a great triathlon for beginners and seasoned triathletes alike.

    Swim:

    The 750 meter swim features an in-water start with the water temperature historically being in the low 80’s so wetsuits are hardly ever permitted. The rectangular shaped course starts right at the lake front at the Trane Technologies Campus with the swim finish located only about 50 yards down the shore from the start location. The water is usually very flat as the course is situated in a protected area of the lake that is sheltered from the wind. Participants will be required to wear a swim cap that designates which wave they are in. We will provide the swim cap for you at packet pick up. The swim waves and start times will be posted in the Event Details which are posted the week of the event.

    Bike:

    The bike course is a 12.7 mile loop which begins and ends on the Trane Technologies Campus. The bike course completely avoids downtown Davidson and Davidson College areas. The bike course quickly becomes a ride through the rural roads of far north Mecklenburg County. The course is moderately hilly with a couple of decent size hills – though nothing too intimidating.

    Run:

    The run course takes place completely on the Trane Technologies Campus. The out and back course is also slightly hilly with lots of turns. If the temperatures are high – the run course will be hot – as shade is at a premium.
