It’s a rite of summer on Cape Cod: an event that attracts not only local triathletes but also visitors from across the nation and the world, (28 U.S. states, 7 nations represented last year!) Join a very festive yet competitive atmosphere at the 2026 Falmouth Sprint Triathlon.

This “short” sprint race is unique for its warm salt-water swim, a scenic bike ride that climbs to the majestic Nobska Point Light, and a flat 5k run entirely alongside one of New England’s most beautiful beaches.

The Falmouth Triathlon has been voted one of the top 5 races for beginners worldwide by the Triathletes Choice Awards, so “casual” athletes and newcomers know they are very welcome to join the tri-geeks. It’s a wonderful day for everyone!

Same beautiful venue featuring improved organization with help from local triathletes. Great for beginners and experienced athletes!

Note: Given that we've been getting more non-licensed racers over the past couple of years, we have dropped USAT sanction to save non-licensed racers from having to pay the $15 one-day license.

Group discount for triathlon teams of 10 or more racers! Contact race director..

All proceeds still to benefit Mattapoisett Lions Club charities. Take advantage of early registration and beat the July 1 $5 fee increase!

David’s Old Silver Swim is an annual open ocean swim along the beautiful shoreline of Old Silver Beach, in North Falmouth, Cape Cod. Join us in the clear waters of Buzzards Bay for our 16th annual charity swim. Choose either a 2-loop, 1-mile swim; a 1-loop, 0.5-mile swim; or a non-competitive 1-loop 0.5 mile fun swim. For accurate race results, each swimmer will be provided with chip timing technology.

This event honors the memory of David Garber, who passed away in October, 2023 after living with ALS for 14 years. His spirit, friendship, determination and love was an inspiration to countless people who got to know him, from near and far.

Compassionate Care ALS Founder and Executive Director, Ron Hoffman, shared a profound and enduring friendship with David. Throughout his ALS journey, David also cultivated an extraordinary and deeply meaningful relationship with the organization. TRI IT YOUR WAY (VIRTUAL CATEGORY)

Can't make it in person? No Problem!

Here's how Tri It Your Way works:

    1. Pick your triathlon activities! Remember, you can either swim the 400 yards or choose another activity to do for 10 minutes. The bike needs to be at least 10 miles and the run needs to be at least a 5K (yes, you may go over, but not under!).

    2. SAFETY FIRST! Make sure you are taking all the safety precautions when swimming, biking, and running. This means not swimming alone and following all the rules of the road (or trail). Just like all the precautions you take when training or racing an event, we want you to be safe.

    3. Record each activity with your watch, or phone, or bike computer.

    4. Document your tri! Whether it’s someone taking pictures of you “racing” or stopping for a selfie mid-run. We want to see you in action! Dogs, kids, partners, friends (socially distanced, of course) are encouraged to join in with you!

    5. Go to our event page and post your “race” data and your pictures. OR email your pics and race data to [email protected].

    USAT SANCTIONED

Results will count toward national and regional rankings. All USAT rules and regulations will apply. Racers are subject to time penalties or disqualification for infractions of USAT rules.

You are required to have either an annual or 1-day (Bronze) USA Triathlon membership in order to race in any USAT-sanctioned event. Non-USAT members will be required to purchase a one-day event insurance license from USA Triathlon. Costs: $14.99/sprint, $24.99/olympic, $9 per relay team member, $10 for youth.

    MASSACHUSETTS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

This is a 2026 USA Triathlon State Championships Ranking Point Event. Residents of Massachusetts can earn points which — combined with results in other qualifying races — will be totaled by USA Triathlon at the end of 2026. Note: you must participate in at least three qualifying races to be eligible for State Champion.

The Shirley May France 10K Road Race

Hosted by the Somerset Economic Development Committee

Presented by Bank Five - Somerset

Join us in honoring a true Somerset trailblazer!

The Somerset Economic Development Committee is proud to host the Shirley May France 10K Road Race, celebrating the legacy of hometown hero Shirley May France. As a determined teenager, Shirley captured national attention with her two courageous attempts to swim the English Channel in 1948 and 1949—coming within just one mile of making history on her second try. Her spirit of perseverance continues to inspire generations.

This scenic 10K course winds through the heart of Somerset, beginning and ending on historic Riverside Avenue. Runners will loop around Dublin Street, High Street, and South Street, before crossing the finish line at Comfort Zone Grille & Bar, where a lively after-party awaits racers and spectators alike.

This year we are also offering 5k and 1 mile races along historic Riverside Avenue sporting scenic water views.

A Race with a Mission: Supporting Local

Proudly presented by Bank Five, this event is more than a run—it’s a rally for our community. Our 2026 charity of choice is, The Cure Starts Now - Somerset chapter. Led by Ken and Michelle Oheman in honor of their late daughter Selina. The Cure Starts Now raises money for research on pediatric brain cancer. We are proud to help support such a wonderful cause that has had a profound affect on our community. The race is also designed to spotlight and stimulate business for the local establishments that make Somerset shine. Many of our community's beloved staples are just steps from the course, including:

    • Comfort Zone Grille & Bar

    • BankFive

    • St. Anne's Credit Union

    • Somerset Creamery

    • Auclair’s Market

    • Fiesta Mexican Restaurant

Whether you’re running, cheering, or simply soaking in the day, you’re helping to uplift Somerset’s small businesses and community pride.

Lace up, show up, and celebrate Somerset’s strength—past and present!
