The 2026 Mountain Mama Road Bike Challenge is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 in beautiful Highland County, Virginia. The yearly event features 2 States, 3 Counties, 9 mountains, 105 miles, and over 10,000 feet of climb. The challenge features 4 courses of different ability levels that include:
Blue Grass Valley Ride: 27 miles of rolling valley hills.
Two State Short Ride: 53 miles and 4 mountains to climb.
Two State Long Ride: follow the century ride for 54 miles then add the Blue Grass Valley ride for a total of 67 miles with 4 mountains to climb.
Century: 2 States, 3 counties, 9 mountains, over 100 miles and over 10,000 feet to climb !

The Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. is hosting its 4th annual 5 alarm 5k. This race will raise money for Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. in its efforts to purchase and maintain safe equipment for the community it serves.
Race starts at 8 am and registration is 6:30 am at the Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept.
The first 100 entries will receive an event themed challenge coin.
Directions to “The Landing” Basecamp
The SlatyFork Enduro is the 4th stop in the West Virginia Enduro Series and will have 7 timed stages. Beginner category will race stages 1, 2, 3, and 4. Shuttles will be provided on race day (Sunday). Casual shuttles are recommended on Saturday for practice, coordinate before riding the trails to ensure practice transport.
Onsite field camping is allowed, however primitive & limited. First come, first serve. There will be port-a-potties with a hand wash station available. Dogs are required to be leashed at all times.

7pm-ish: Dinner will be available for cash donations onsite and live music afterwards.
Sunday (8/9)
MANDATORY RACE MEETING at 9am, race starts at 10am. Water & snacks will be available at the Tea Creek Campground shuttle area. Dinner will be catered at the Basecamp during awards.
