Celebrating 54 years of friendly competition in the South Sound. Whether it's our signature 12k route with challenging hills, spectacular water views, the occasional forest critter and trees that
touch the sky - or our fast 5k route, be assured that you are a part of something bigger than yourself. YOU are the fabric of Tacoma and the South Sound. YOU are our community. YOU are carriers of tradition.
And for our younger athletes, we happily offer the Sound to Narrows 2k race or the ever-competitive 20-yard Diaper Dash for the wee ones.

We Run on Native Land
We acknowledge that our running opportunities are built on the purposeful removal of Native peoples, who have been the stewards of Seattle-area lands for thousands of years. Thus, we accept our ethical responsibility for the ongoing stewardship of the land and purposeful support of Native neighbors, colleagues, businesses, and tribes. The Muckleshoot, Duwamish, Stillaguamish, Snoqualmie, and Coast Salish are the Natives of the lands we run on.
Photo Consent
I understand and accept that photos/videos/illustrations may be taken of me and/or my personal property while attending/participating in Seattle Running Club (SRC) events/functions. I acknowledge and agree that such photographs or other illustrations may be used by SRC and its related entities for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium, without compensation to me. If you would prefer not to have a particular photo used, let us know and we’ll do our best to remove it right away.
A Greener Event: Cup Free - Again, this year the series is continuing to reduce the amount of trash created during the event. We ask that runners bring a refillable water container with them on the trail to use at aid stations along the way. Our friends at Seven Hills Running, Fleet Feet Sports Seattle Ballard, and Snoqualmie Running have a variety of hydration products.
Race Information -Thanks to runners like you, the Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series has raised over $265,000+ for King County Parks and contributed hundreds of hours of trail work. Join Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs in carrying this legacy forward and making this 22nd annual event bigger and better than ever!
Just 15 minutes from Seattle, King County's Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park is one of the most popular training grounds for area trail runners and the Seattle Running Club. The course builds on itself throughout the series and brings runners through a lush forest of fern-lined single-track trails, over hills and along marshes and wetland habitats. This is a great series to supplement the training regime for a fall marathon or ultra. Cougar Mountain features rolling hills, a few moderate climbs, and a few steep but short inclines.
The summer Short Series and Long Series races are held on the 2nd Saturday of May, June, July, and August. The Fall races are held on the last Sunday in October. Series standings are updated after each month's races and everyone competing in each successive distance is eligible for Series awards (best 3 out of 4 races is eligible for awards!). There is a participant cap and the races tend to sell out, so register early! There are NO REFUNDS!
Seattle Running Club Discount
If you are a member of Seattle Running Club, you should have received a discount code for 20% in the newsletter. You will need to provide your member number if you use this discount code. There are also many other discounts and benefits for being a member of the Seattle Running Club.
No Dogs
As much as we love our four-legged friends and family members, we are not allowed to have dogs at our event.Very important announcement: Dogs are not allowed on the course due to Insurance Requirements. Despite the park's policy on dogs on leashes being acceptable, insurance has determined dogs on course cause a potentially unsafe environment for participants and spectators.
Awards
The top 3 Men, Women, and Nonbinary Runners in each event will receive a podium prize.

What’s Included
✔ Your registration includes a Fjordin Crossin’ logo’d Scandinavian “tophue” (knit beanie)
✔ Event t-shirts available for purchase at the merchandise/registration table for $24
✔ Water station, sliced oranges, medals, and prizes at various crossing levels

Important Details
✔ Family- and pet-friendly event
Parents/guardians must register and sign waivers for participants under 18.

✔ Dress up!
Scandinavian themes and team costumes are encouraged. We’ll be awarding prizes for Best Dressed!

✔ The Crossing
You’ll cross the Fjord — though not the entire way — due to safety, time, and private property considerations. This event honors an old Nordic tradition where Aquavit crossed the equator to the West Indies. For our local twist, replace the West Indies with Hoodsport, following our Viking sailboat as it leads the way! Paddlers should use the Viking sailboat and YSS Dive boat as visual guides for the turnaround point.
✔ Bring Your Own Vessel
Kayaks, SUPs, canoes, or any non-motorized vessel are welcome.
An offloading station will be available at the Port of Hoodsport, with volunteers assisting with safe loading and unloading before parking.
🚗 Parking is NOT available at the Port of Hoodsport.
Washington State Patrol will be on site to assist with safety and summer traffic flow. We will have volunteers to help you offload so that you can move along quickly to find parking. Paddlers are encouraged to park at the Hood Canal Community Church - 81 N. Finch Freek Road, Hoodsport (only a few blocks away from the event). We will have Mason Transit and Hood Canal School buses assisting with shuttling paddlers, vendors and festivalgoers. Our website will be updated soon with more info!
✔ Kayak Rentals
Kayaks may be rented from Hood Canal Adventures (hourly; allow at least 3 hours).
They will be on site with limited inventory — advance reservations are strongly recommended.

This event is 100% volunteer-run, and we strive to make it extremely fun, safe, and well organized for everyone. We’re grateful for the support of YSS Dive and local Fire Departments, who help ensure safety is our top priority. Registration fees support administrative costs, coordination, and the long-term success of Fjordin Crossin’.
✨ New this year: May 15, 2026 from 5:30-7:30PM is our IPA & Aquavit Release Event. Be the first to sample this year's IPA and NEW Aquavit cocktails for the Grotto at the main event. Check out our merchandise, meet our Board of Directors and simply hang out at The Hardware Distillery and Potlatch Brewing Co in Hoodsport.
After registering, you’ll receive follow-up emails from Kerry London Myers with detailed information on logistics, parking, and the event itinerary — so you’re fully prepared to have FUN. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Have you been dreaming of running the Boston Marathon? Need to shave a few minutes off your qualifying time? Or maybe you're just looking for the perfect course to set a new PR? Whether Boston is
your goal or not, the Bound for Boston Marathon & Half Marathon is for you.
We are racing around Olympia High School and the course features a 1-mile, super flat and super fast loop, making it ideal for consistent pacing and record-setting performances. The Full Marathon is USATF certified, making it a Boston Qualifier.
This event is uniquely designed for serious runners. We will have water and an electrolyte drink at the aid table. Participants are welcome to bring their own personalized aid to place on the aid tables, allowing you to grab exactly what you need each time you pass. Many runners even bring a cheer crew to help hand out fuel and keep the motivation high throughout the race.
To maintain the best possible experience, this is intentionally a small, focused event, capped at just 75 participants.
We will have a great race shirt and finisher medals for all participants. Awards for both distances are in the usual 5-year age groups.
Fast course, flexible support, and a chance to chase your goals—this is the race that lets you run your perfect day.
