The 5K will take place on an easy, scenic route at Fritz Park in Hutto, Texas. The course features smooth paths, minimal elevation gain (about 33 feet), and a fast, beginner-friendly layout. Perfect for runners and walkers alike, this flat course is ideal for first-timers, families, and those aiming for a strong finish.

Race Overview The South Texas Ultra is a 50K, 35K, 17K, and 5K scenic trail run held on the H.W. Lewis Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. Featuring beautiful scenery and challenging rocky, dirt, and grass trails with over 2300 feet of elevation gain for the 50K event, the race follows a 10.3M looped course and a unique route for the 5K, beginning and ending at the H.W. Wild Hare has turned into one of our most fun trail races of all Tejas Trails events. With the safety and beauty of a privately owned Texas ranch and adventure park, and multiple really fun loops, new runners get a feel for trail running, and experienced runners get an opportunity to try new strategies, fueling, diet, etc. as well as hammer out a fast and fun race. Always a good turnout, usually nice weather, an entertaining course, hundreds of people hanging out all day and night... this is an absolutely fantastic trail race weekend with a bunch of good memories waiting to be made.
While every racer will get some cool swag, Oct. 20 is the deadline to get a shirt.
