Come for the race, stay for the party!
As you know, our goal with the Alamo Beer Challenge is to help you test if you are on track to cross the finish line of the San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon or the BCS Marathon. HOWEVER, you've probably been with us long enough or at least heard that we want you to have fun getting there also, so we will have food and beer at each race. So after the run, not only can you enjoy knowing that you are getting closer to your goal of a great marathon season, but you get to meet some other great and wild people along the way.
All ages welcome

If you sign up within one week of the race, your shirt size will not be guaranteed to be available on race day This DOES NOT mean you won't get your shirt, it'll just be ordered when you sign up and get in a bit later**
Scally-Facts:
NOTE ABOUT DISCOUNT CODES; If you are 16 or younger you get an automatic 50% discount.
Do not use an additional discount code.
Age categories:

First overall male and female and first overall masters, male and female.
All age group awards will be based on chip time due to needing to start in waves.
We award for 1st through 4th so don’t leave without your award.
Some things to consider;
If you are a walker, make sure you check in at the timing table and tell them you are walking the entire race, and you are not running even on step, this puts you in a different category.
If you finish make sure your time matching what your watch says and that your name is spelled correctly and your gender is correct and you are in the right age category.
If you do not finish do not leave until you tell the timing people, because we do not leave until all runners are finished, we will have to go look for you.
Don’t run with someone else’s number.
Wear your number on the front of your shorts and do not bend the number as it has your chip embedded into the bib.
We want you to have fun and here are a few things that might help.
Show up with plenty of time to get your bib, go to the bathroom and get in line before the start of your race.
Invite family and or friends and ask them if they would like to volunteer while you run.
Being a volunteer for a couple of hours is an enjoyable thing, we promise they will love it.
Bring a change of clothes and leave them in your car so you can get out of sweaty clothes and come back to the awards ceremony.
Each race has it's own fun design on the ever loved tech shirt (gender specific)
We continue to have non-profits involved and you will be able to donate to their cause when signing up.
Virtual runners
We offer the opportunity to run on your own but still sign up for the race. Life happens and sometimes even at the last minute you can’t make it to the race. You can switch to virtual we prefer if you do that on the Thursday before the race. The reason is that we assign bib numbers on Thursday before the race at noon. After noon it becomes hard for us to make changes and several people have to get involved. You may be charged more to switch to virtual after Thursday before each race.
If you are a virtual runners we do not put a limit on when you have to run. If you are injured it might be a few weeks before you can run that distance do not stress out. Do it when you can. We do have a virtual tab on our website click there and follow the instructions. If you want your packet mailed there will be a charge to mail your packet and this charge will be determined as we get closer to the event. Presently it is $12 per packet.
No Refunds! Thanks for signing up for our race, sometimes things change and you have to transfer your race entry or change the race, we understand. Please understand that this takes time to make these changes and we charge $20 to make that change or transfer two days before the race. $30 to transfer the day before the race. It doesn't mean we don't love you.
No Transfers after race day.
All of these things are here to help. We still love you, we just want you to have fun.
Questions [email protected] will get you answers.

Guns will be racked at the Shooting Range- NO GUNS WILL BE CARRIED ON THE RUN OR THE BIKE.
All Rifles must be pointed in a safe direction at all times, failure to point rifle in safe direction will result in a disqualification (DQ) from the event.

A mandatory chamber flag is required for every firearm. Homemade one is sufficent (ie zip tie, weed eater line, etc). Must not be able to fall out while rifle is in the rack. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/EGsAAOSwsq1crR-w/s-l400.jpg
Rifles will only be loaded when at firing line and in shooting position with rifle pointed in safe direction and under supervision of a Range Safety Officer. All Rifles must be stored and transported with the action open (bolt to the rear) and no ammunition in the firearm unless under the supervision of the Range Safety Officer at the designated shooting position.
5 rounds only, will be prepared in advance and inserted at the firing line. After shooting, magazines will be removed at the firing line with bolts open or a chamber flag inserted before racking gun. Tube fed magazines must have feed tube removed after shooting. Racers will be responsible for picking up and loading their own guns.

In each shooting leg, racer gets 5 shots. For each miss, the racer must run or ride one penalty lap (penalty laps take about 20 seconds for run and 40 seconds for mtb). Example- racer one runs/ rides LOOP 1 and arrives at the shooting range. Racer puts on safety glasses and ear protection if not already wearing it. Racer picks up his racked gun and takes his five round magazine/ container of 5 shots. Racer goes to firing line and loads gun, shoots and hits the target 3 times with 2 misses. Racer unloads gun and leaves firing line back to safety line. Re-racks gun and starts running or gets on bike. Runs/ rides to penalty lap area. Does 2 penalty laps and then continues on to LOOP 2. Comes into shooting area for second time, follows shooting procedure and gets 4 hits, one miss. Runs/ rides to penalty lap, does one lap and then continues on to LOOP 3.
