To participate in any of our events you must have a USA-Cycling License.
You will be able to purchase a license within the registration process.
Join us for a 5k Fun Run/Walk that shows off the Recreation trail in and around George, IA. The start and finish are located in beautiful Locker Park. Proceeds go to the improvement and maintenance of the trail system. Majority of route is on the city trail with only the first half mile on city streets. The run is on a mostly flat course with a few minor hills. Enjoy the scenery as you run on the trail through residential housing, campground, wooded area, and fields.
For those that do not want to run, we do offer a 1.25 mile (Approximate length) untimed leisurely walk. This event will start with those participating in the 5K, but will veer off and participants will then walk the north portion of the George Recreational Trail and finish at the 5k finish line. This event is for those who don't want to run/walk the entire 5K but still want to enjoy the Freedom Day Fun Run/Walk. The walk will NOT be timed but finishers will still receive a t-shirt and refreshments.
Davis Lake Triathlon will be held on the 4th of July. This triathlon is Kayak, Bike, Run. There are two race categories.
The Minnow Race=Kayak 1/4 mile, Bike 2 miles, and Run 1 Mile
The Shark Race=Kayak 1/2 mile, Bike 8 miles, and Run 2.5 Miles
Both events can be completed by either a single individual or a 2-3 person team. When registering as a team, only one member is required to pay the registration. I will contact that person to get information about his/her teammates
Kayaks and Life Vests will be provided.

The Glow Run check in and start will be at the intersection of E Locust St. and S 1st St, by the Horse Arena. The route will include an out-and-around loop on the trail through Magnetic Park. All runners and walkers should park near the horse arena. Bathrooms will be available.

RUN. BIKE. KAYAK Join us for a new kind of race along the shores of Lewis & Clark Lake in Northeast Nebraska. Choose your adventure between three events: a sprint triathlon with kayaking instead of swimming, a half marathon or 12-mile bike race. Participants must be 14 years or older. Racers get a free t-shirt, meal and beverage at the Finish Line Party. Extra t-shirts and meals can be ordered here.

PRIZES: The overall individual winner will receive a plaque. The individual winners of each age group and the fastest team will receive medals. Half Marathon finishers receive a medal. Everyone gets a high five!
LODGING: Stay in Crofton at the Lewis and Clark Lodge or the Historic Argo Hotel. Camping is also available at the Weigand Campgrounds. Make arrangements early as limited rooms are available.

Sprint Distance 500 m Swim, 20k (12.2 mi.) Bike, 5k Run
Kids Splash 'n Dash - New this year for youth ages 5-16 (age as of 12/31/2026, life vests permitted). Registration cost is $20
Ages 5-10 years - swim 100 meters and run one mile
Ages 11-16 - swim 200 meters and run 1 mile
Kids Fun Run around Ravine Lake (FREE)
Team Tri-Businesses are encouraged to form a team and compete in the sprint distance for a travelling Corporate Crank trophy, team members must be employees or employee family members.
Helmets are required and swim caps are also required.
FREE KIDS' FUN RUN - The fun run is free and open to kids ages 12 and under and will start after the races. No preregistration is necessary just a parental waiver for the fun run and all participants will receive a treat courtesy of Putters & Scoops.
Online Sprint Triathlon registration price goes up at noon 7/24 to $85 for individuals and $125 for teams (Splash and Dash pricing is $20). If you cannot pick up your packet Friday night, pick up is available between 6:30-7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25. All racers must get body markings Saturday a.m.
EVENT SCHEDULE
Packet pickup is Friday 5-7 p.m. and Saturday 6:30-7:30 a.m. at the shelter behind Putters 'n Scoops. All racers will also need to get race markings Saturday morning before 7:30 a.m.
Transition opens at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and will close at 7:45 a.m. for the pre-race meeting.

8:00 a.m. –Triathlon Swim starts
9:00 a.m. - Splash and Dash swim starts, 5-10 year olds first, followed by 11-16 years.
9:30 a.m. (approximate) – Kids’ Fun Run (see volunteers under shelter for waiver forms)
10:00 am - Awards – under picnic shelter
