Join us for the 1st Annual “Love, Jill” Memorial Race, a 5K charity run and 1-mile walk through the streets of Beaver along the beautiful Ohio River on August 15, 2026. This event is held in loving
memory of Jill Renee Littler, who passed away on September 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma.
Jill’s strength was forged long before her cancer diagnosis. At just 15 years old, she was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, a fight she carried with her for 36 years. Through countless surgeries, hospital stays, treatments, and daily challenges, Jill faced her illness with quiet resilience, grit, and grace—never allowing it to define her or diminish the love she gave to others.
In early 2025, Jill was diagnosed with oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma. She approached this battle with the same determination and grace that defined her life. On May 2nd, Jill underwent major surgery that included extensive lymph node removal, partial mandible (jaw) removal, and complex reconstruction using a titanium plate, followed by reconstructive surgery. Her treatment continued with 33 rounds of radiation and multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Despite setbacks, severe side effects, and overwhelming physical challenges, Jill pushed forward with unwavering resolve, always focused on her family and the people she loved.
In August 2025, Jill was hospitalized after developing a blood clot in her lung. Following additional procedures, doctors discovered the cancer had spread. With love, clarity, and extraordinary courage, her family made the difficult decision to bring her home, where she passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 22, 2025. Race weekend falls on Jill’s birthday, making this gathering an especially meaningful celebration of her life.
Jill was the heart of her family and a bright light in the Beaver County community. She lived guided by the values she cherished—love of family, service to others, a strong work ethic, kindness, and gentle leadership. Whether as a coworker, friend, volunteer, or quiet supporter behind the scenes, Jill had a rare way of lifting people up. This event honors not only her memory, but the compassion, strength, and grace she shared so freely with everyone she met.
Participants may choose between a 5K run or a 1-mile fun walk. The event will also feature a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.
All registered participants will receive a commemorative race t-shirt, available for pickup at the event.

Why “Love, Jill”?
Jill ended every note, message, and reminder the same way she lived her life—with love. To honor that legacy, her family created the annual “Love, Jill” Scholarship, transforming her signature into a lasting gift for young people in our community. Through this scholarship, Jill’s message continues to inspire future generations:
“I believe in you.”
We invite the entire Beaver County community to join us in celebrating Jill’s life, honoring her legacy, and showing her family just how deeply she was loved.

Are you ready to launch your running to the next level in 2026? Join us for the first ever Sidewinder in Montour Woods Conservation Area, with proceeds benefiting the Hollow Oak Land Trust*. Choose
your distance: Half Marathon (hikers welcome), 20 Mile (hikers welcome), or the full 50K and expect a well-marked route, solid aid, and a welcoming first-year vibe.
Interested in volunteering at the race? Please fill out this form.
About the Course:
Typical Western PA trail conditions: twisty dirt singletrack with plenty of roots, windy switchbacks, and rocky sections that keep you on your toes. The course will consist of three parts: Liftoff, Orbit, and Final Approach.
Liftoff
Starting at Clearview Shelter in Moon Park, Liftoff is a 1.36 mile segment that will connect you from Moon Park to Montour Woods. Expect a nice flowy, downhill section connecting to a wooden boardwalk to start your race and ensure that all systems are go.
Orbit
Time to start into Orbit, consisting of a 9 mile loop around the Montour Woods Conservation Area. Orbit will take you through all the must-see sites in Montour Woods. You’ll cruise through the reclaimed concrete clearing of the old Nike missile site, pop out under the powerline, wind up and down and around the mountain, settle into a scenic stretch beside Meeks Run (with a waterfall spilling over rock ledges and a cave feature that feels like a hidden trail secret), and pass an old oil well tucked along the trail. Aid stations will be available approximately every 3-4 miles along the loop. One Orbit loop for the half marathon, two for the 20 milers, and three for those completing the 50K.
Final Approach
50K and Half Marathon: As the end of your journey draws near, you will climb into your Final Approach, a 2.87 mile, mostly double track loop around Moon Park. The loop gives you that perfect ending, knowing your journey is coming to a close and you're about to achieve your goal.
20 Mile: As the end of your journey draws near, you will climb back to the finish line, the same 1.36 segment as Liftoff but in reverse. An uphill push to the end, you'll be digging deep to finish strong and achieve your goal.
Vertical Gain per Distance:
50K: ~4500 ft
20 Mile: ~3200 ft
Half Marathon: ~1900 ft

Sun, Sep 06, 2026 at 7:30 AM
This is a fun and unique local trail running event with combined wide trails and single-track trails for all skill levels.
Your choice of three trail events.
1.) 5k trail walk/ run (1 lap) wide
gravel and grass trails
2.) 10k trail run (1 lap) wide grass gravel along with dirt single track no major water crossings.
3.) Half Marathon trail run (2 laps 10k+ course) same as the 10k course no major water crossings.
All monies raised will go to support local youth/ Boy Scout development activities.
Only the 5K walk run permits dogs and strollers.
First and foremost, we have every intention of hosting the Bull Dam Trail Run, scheduled onsite.
That said, there are two reasons it could be canceled, changed significantly, or postponed that are out of our control:
1.) Cancellations by a government agency (think Covid restrictions)
2.) If there is extreme, inclement weather. (Lightning, high winds, hail)
Note that we are subject to all restrictions put in place by the Pennsylvania State Government, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the North East Area Emergency Management Agency. We will follow their guidelines.
Also, note that we will try to have the post-race breakfast of waffles and sausage and maybe bacon. We are required to have a health department permit to serve food. We will have some sort of post-race refreshments that will meet safety guidelines – perhaps local fruits and prepackaged snacks. (We will have breakfast again this year)
Here are some specific details on the Bull Dam Trail Run, which is made up of three events:
1.) A 5K Trail Run/Walk
2.) A 10 Trail Run
3.) A 13.1 Mile Trail Run (two loops plus a little of the 10k course plus a little more.)
Timing the events:
We will have a timer on site. The results go up online within minutes.
The start:
) All events will start at the same time. 7:30 AM.
) The start of all events will be a “Soft Start or Rolling Start”.
) All events will start in the same start window. (See starting note below)
) The bibs are Radio Frequency chipped and read at the start.
The Finish:
) The finish will be video recorded.
) The Bibs will read the RF chips at the finish and are yours to keep.
) Results will be calculated based on your start time and your finish time. The recorded chip times differential is the official time that the race will be scored on. The video is simply for backup if the chip result does not record.
Start Note:
We will start all events at 7:30-7:35 AM. You will not be able to change your event on the day of the race.
) The event start window will be 5 minutes.
) Once you cross the start line, your event starts for you.
Use of water stations and porta potties.
The “Soft Start” is intended to spread out crowding at the water stations, the trails, and porta potties.
This should enable you as a participant to socially distance yourself from other runners.
The water stations will be manned for refill work only.
The water station will be self-serve only. (there may be folks to help)
The folks at the water stations are to restock supplies, do minor clean-up, and let the race officials know if there is a runner in need of assistance.
There will be an official start line with RF sensors.
There will be an official finish line with RF sensors.
The 5K Run/ Walk Course:
The 5k course is around the reservoir and will be unflagged for most of the course. It is one lap of the reservoir. Always keep the water to the same side it is on when you start. If the water is behind, you or on the opposite side you are probably going the wrong way.
The 10k & 13.1-mile Course:
The 10k & Half Marathon is in the woods and will be fully flagged with flags about 30-50 feet apart. There will be caution tape up to guide participants in confusing areas.
Course tear-down will start at 11:30 AM as we are required by the North East Borough to have flags and caution tape removed within 48 hours. This takes a lot of manpower and time as we have approximately 6,000 flags on the course as well as caution tape.
Onsite registration:
1.) Registration/ Payments must be done online via Runsign-up either on your smartphone or online.
2.) There will be some bibs on-site for same-day registration. Cash Only unless you register on-site via your phone.
By signing up for the race you understand that we will do whatever we must to have this race, onsite. If the race is canceled by things beyond our control, there will be no refunds.

This is the 22nd YUTC Event
Mill Creek Park is a very scenic and picturesque area maintained by the Ohio Metro Parks system. It is the second largest urban park in the USA - only Central Park is
larger.
The current course is 95% single track past large mature trees, past lakes and waterfalls. It is mixture of short steep hills followed by runnable terrain.
There is approximately 1397 feet of elevation gain per 25K loop.
The 25K course is one loop around Mill Creek Park. The 50K course is two loops around Mill Creek Park.
This is a terrific race for the newcomers to trail running and challenging for the old veteran trail dogs.
YUTC will provide everyone with a truly memorable experience. You will find yourself stopping and snapping photo after photo to share with friends and family.
The YUTC Course:
The course begins at the Bresko Pavilion and travels clockwise around the park passing the Mill then traveling through the Covered Bridge to the aid station on the other side.
After leaving the aid station, the course travels counter clock wise around Newport Lake. The course returns to the Covered Bridge and the aid station.
After leaving the Covered Bridge aid station for the second time, the course travels clockwise back to the Wick Recreation area - to the finish line/aid station at the Bresko Pavilion.
The course will be well marked on race day. There will be white ribbon hanging from the trees, white pie plates indicating turns and water based white paint on the ground with arrows.
Notes: The course will remain approximately the same this year. The 2025 race will continue to circle Lake Newport. The original YUTC course circled the lake. The course will again circle the Lake Newport.
Registration
The race is capped at 250 runners. 125 runners for the 25K and 125 runners for the 50K.
In 2026 - there will be race day signups!
NO transfers for any reason! Deferments will be permitted in the case of pregnancy and post partum issues.
NO REFUNDS - NO EXCEPTIONS!
REGISTRATION NOTE: Your requested Tee Shirt size will not be guaranteed if your Race Registration is received after 5:00 PM on August 16, 2026.
Race Day Information
Packet pickup will begin at 6:15 AM in the parking lot at the Wick Recreation Area near the playground. (Bib numbers, tee shirts and swag)
There are flush toilets at the new recreation center and the golf office. Porta-johns and pit toilets are also available nearby.
NOTE: the porta-johns will be available even if the new recreation center building is open.
7:30 am start for the 50K runners and end at 4:30PM - Note - 50K runners must leave the start/finish line for their second loop by 12:30 PM.
8:00 am start for the 25K runners and end at 4:30PM
The park will be open. There will be other visitors in the park. Please be respectful.
Please remember that we are guests in Mill Creek Park. Cause no damage and do not litter.
Aid Stations
There are two aid stations at the Youngstown Ultra Trail Classic:
Covered Bridge - you will visit this aid station two times per 25K loop. The first visit is approximately 7 miles from the start. The second visit is at approximately 11 miles.
If you are running the 50K race, you will visit the Covered Bridge Aid Station two more times: at approximately mile 21.5 and approximately 25.5.
Start/Finish Line - you will visit this once for the 25K race - mile 15.5 - this will be the end of your race. You visit twice for the 50K race - once at the mile 15.5 and at the end of the race 31 miles.
NOTE: Feminine products will be available at both aid stations.
Our aid stations are manned by friendly and encouraging volunteers. The food will not be packaged – we will have nutritious and delicious cut fruit, sandwiches, snacks - water, Gatorade and other drinks
There will be an after-race party this year. We are going to celebrate in the Bresko Pavilion same as 2025.
We encourage family and friends to join you after you cross the finish line for photos and fellowship. Last year, the hillside at the finish line was covered with a cheering crowd. Waving and shouting as the runners valiantly charged up the hill to the finish. Let's continue this wonderful tradition!
