    Weather Cancellation Policy

    OSB 5K Runners’ and volunteers' safety is the most important thing and if any of the threatening weather conditions listed below are present the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled. A race may be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, Lightning, Excessive Wind with Rain, other major weather conditions.

    The OSB 5K committee will make a determination regarding race cancellation no later than 7:00pm on Friday, April 3, 2026 regarding the currently forecasted weather.

    In the event of cancellation, all runners will receive an email with information on how they can receive their finisher medal/and event T-shirt.

    Operation School Bell 5K is an annual fundraiser event hosted by Assistance League Norman! All proceeds benefit Operation School Bell philanthropic program which provides free, new clothing to students in the Norman and Little Axe school districts. You can learn more by visiting Assistance League Norman's website at assistanceleague.org/norman.

    The 5K Run will be held Saturday, April 4th, 2026 at 8:30am Ruby Grant Park in Norman, OK! The Start / Finish Line will be located at the Ruby Grant park off 36th street in Norman. The Fun Run will begin at 9am. At the conclusion of the 5K, we will host an awards ceremony for our top finishers. All Fun Run participants will receive a participation medal.

    The Virtual 5K will be held March 29-April4th, 2026 as an option for registrants to participate at their convenience. Virtual 5K participants will upload their race results after completion. Virtual 5K participants will not receive a medal.

    Weather Policy

    Rain or Shine, the 5K will take place. However, in the event of lightning, we will make a decision at the event regarding start delay.

    • The Operation School Bell 5K is using Ruby Grant Park to hold our race. The racecourse will be on our website.

    Join us in our third Crossroads Youth & Family Services A Child's World 5k on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026! Bring your running shoes and your family out to run or walk the 5k at Ruby Grant Park in Norman, then stay for the Family Activities.

    Founded by Cleveland County leaders in 1969, as the state's first emergency youth shelter, Crossroads Youth and Family Services, Inc. has expanded to provide support services for all ages from birth to adulthood. For over three decades, our nationally accredited and state-certified programs have helped children, youth, and families build healthy lifestyles, strong families, and caring communities.

    Why a 5k? Crossroads Youth & Family Services’ mission is to support the healthy lifestyles and emotional well-being of children, youth and families through the provision of effective, community-based programs and services. Running outside could have benefits, like lessening feelings of loneliness and isolation, reducing the effects of stress, and helping with depression and anxiety. SO COME OUT AND RUN WITH US!

    NOTE: Event pricing increases as we get closer to the race so be sure to register early.

    After the run, head over to the pavilion for additional activities and to learn more about Crossroads' mission and services.

    • The first 150 finishers will get a medal

    • Register by April 6th to guarantee a t-shirt

    • A virtual option for this race is available

    • A donation only option is available for this event

    Packet Pick Up will be held at the Crossroads Youth & Family Services Office located at 1333 W. Main Street, Norman, OK 73069. Phone: 405-795-3420. Details on pickup dates and times will be added soon and sent out to registrants before race day. Packets can also be picked up on race day.

    Race day registration will be available ONLINE ONLY using your smart phone and a QR code provided, paid by credit card only.
