It's a Thanksgiving Day tradition, and it's returning to the streets of Newark, NY in 2025! The race is a 5-mile run through the streets of the Village of Newark, located conveniently between Rochester and Syracuse. All proceeds benefit the Newark Cross Country Boosters.
Race Day check-in begins at 8AM at the community center.

pumpkin pie, lace up and join us for the First Annual West Hill Turkey Trot.
This 2-lap course is a West Hill original, featuring 165 feet of climbing per lap (yep, that means 330 feet total) with a signature climb up Terrace Road that’ll get your heart rate up faster than the turkey fryer. But don’t worry — what goes up must come down, and you’ll enjoy a fun, gradual descent on the back side of the loop.

On behalf of Live Like Liam Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting children with special needs and medical challenges, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. In the last two years, more
than 1,000 community members came together to honor the life of Liam Zoghby and make a lasting impact.
Liam—a brave young man from Jamesville-DeWitt, born with DiGeorge Syndrome—taught us the power of courage, positivity and commitment to: “Find The Good.” Though we lost him in January 2024 at just 22 years old, his spirit continues to guide our mission.
Thanks to your generosity in 2025, we have been able to:
Establish an annual scholarship for a graduating Jamesville-DeWitt High School senior
Make contributions to Ronald McDonald House, supporting families in need
Create an endowment at The Upstate Foundation for chromosome research and to ease hospital burdens for parents
Launch a endowed scholarship at Syracuse University’s InclusiveU program, empowering students with special needs
Because our foundation is run entirely by volunteers, every dollar raised goes directly into programs that support local families and children.
We are now excited to announce the 3rd Annual Live Like Liam Walk & Run on Saturday, November 28, 2026 starting at 9am, at Jamesville-DeWitt High School.
The event includes:
A 1.22-mile walk
A 3.22-mile run
(The “.22” honors Liam’s chromosome 22 challenges)

SYRACUSE UGLY SWEATER 5K

Race Event start time 10:00am
Come celebrate the transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season with a fun and festive Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K for
runners and walkers. The 12th Annual Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K will once again be held at Onondaga Lake Park under the Lights on the Lake. All runners participating in the Ugly Sweater 5K run (either Team Santa or Team Grinch) will receive a custom long sleeve shirt and custom finisher medal. New for 2026 will be the addition of the Ugly Sweater 5K Yeti Walk. All of those participating in the rewarding 5K walk will receive a custom Winter Beanie and a finisher medal.
Post race awards ceremony and party will be at the Cobblestone in Liverpool. There will be awards for the Overall and Age Group winners as well as prizes for best in dress.
All donations, both financial and in-kind will go to the Ainsley's Angels of Syracuse this year.

Willow Running USA is excited bring back the Binghamton Ugly Sweater 5K for year #3. What better way to conclude the year long running season that with a high spirit, festive 5K run in your favorite
ugly sweater or Christmas attire spreading good cheer along the way.. We will have Awards for Overall and Masters winners (M/F) as well as Age Group winners. There will be a Ugly Sweater contest with prizes for the Ugliest, Most Unique and of course the Classic Ugly Sweater look.
Once again you'll be able to choose to run for either Team Santa or Team Grinch. New for 2026 will be Team Yeti for those who prefer to walk the 5K rather than run. Post race Christmas cookies and hot chocolate for all finishers as well.
Great fun, great run and always for a great cause! This years benefactor is Team Hopeful a local not for profit organization whose incredible mission executed through Pawlandias is to create a doggy daycare that will employ people with special needs.

Come join us for the 9th Annual Utica Ugly Sweater 5K!
All runners participating in this years Utica Ugly Sweater 5K (Team Santa or Team Grinch) will receive a
custom long sleeve shirt and custom finisher medal. New for 2026 will be the addition of the Yeti 5K Walk. Those preferring to walk the 5K will receive a custom winter beanie as well as a well deserved finisher medal.
Post race party at Pizza Boys with free food for the runners and beer specials. There will be awards for overall and age group winners and of course, prizes for the Ugly Sweater Contest. A little bit of run and a whole lot of fun!
