    Originally created by Bill Kehoe in the ’90s, the Polar Cats Winter Race Series returns for another fun, low-frills, low-cost winter running season around Rochester!

    Each race has its own “Bowl” theme — and you can run one or all four!

    We ask that everyone please bring a new, unwrapped Teddy Bear to be donated to The Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester. CACGR uses the bears to give to the children they serve and assist during their difficult times.

    About the Race:

    The Rock and Snow Bridge 2 Bridge Five Mile Run is held annually in early April by Mohonk Preserve with support from the Shawangunk Runners. All race proceeds benefit Mohonk Preserve and its mission to protect 8,000 acres of the beautiful Shawangunk Mountains and inspire visitors to appreciate nature. The 5-mile course is mostly on wide, lightly graveled carriage roads with a small section on trails. This is a chip-timed event. Awards are given to the top overall finishers by gender and to the top three finishers in ten-year age categories. Awards include delicious apple pies, annual memberships to Mohonk Preserve, or free race entries to Shawangunk Runner events.

    Refunds

    Due to the fundraising nature of this event no refunds are granted.

    Deferrals and Transfers

    No race entry deferrals or transfers are permitted. Mohonk Preserve reserves the right to postpone the race due to adverse weather or course conditions. Every attempt will be made to reschedule the race in the event of a postponement but if that is not possible and the race cannot be rescheduled, no refunds of registration fees will be issued.

    Minors

    Minors under the age of fourteen must have written permission of a parent or guardian to participate. The parent or guardian must sign the event waiver on behalf of the minor.

    Non-binary and Transgender Entrants

    Our goal is to establish rules to encourage and facilitate the participation of transgender and non-binary runners at Mohonk Preserve events by ensuring fair and inclusive practices that respect the personal rights and dignity of transgender and non-binary participants.

    Spectators

    Free entry to the Spring Farm Trailhead for race spectators arriving with registered participants. Non-member spectators arriving independently are required to show a valid Preserve membership or pay the day pass fee of $15 per person. Children 15 and under are always free with a parent or guardian.

    Strollers and Dogs

    Strollers and dogs are not permitted on course. Dogs are allowed at the start/finish line only and must be kept on a leash and under the owner’s control at all times.

    The Shawangunk Runners, with support from the Kiernan Farm/Bruynswick Winery in Gardiner, NY, is hosting it's second annual 6k (3.8-mile) cross-country run for the benefit of the Ulster County SPCA animal shelter. Animal shelters are in dire need as the number of animals under their care rises. The farm and winery are beautiful at the foot of the Shawanguk Ridge. Come run and support the mission of the UCSPCA, listen to music, and have a glass of wine or a beer. The UCSPCA will be there for a meet and greet with some of the shelter animals. We will also have some free dashes for the youngest children. No outside alcohol is allowed. There are overall awards and awards for the top three in all standard 10-year age groups. The day of registration ($35) begins at 9 am, and the race begins at 10 am. Children's dashes (free) at 9:45 am.

The Endurance race blends a measured stretch of trail running with repeated assaults on Obstacle Wonderland’s signature rigs and field obstacles. Athletes will move in and out of the woods and straight into technical challenges that demand strength, grip, and mental toughness.

This heat isn’t about winning- it’s about trying, smiling, and realizing “I can do this.”

    Every muddy mile helps make a difference!

    We’re thrilled to have the Teddy Bear Crawl Foundation joining us at this year's Rise of the Obstacles! This heartfelt nonprofit delivers joy and comfort to kids battling tough medical journeys. A mission is to provide comfort in the form of a teddy bear to children who are admitted into hospitals around the nation.

    When you register, you’ll also have the chance to support their mission because getting down for a cause makes every obstacle worth it.. Sign up, get moving, and consider donating to this incredible cause.

    WEATHER POLICY:

    We are a fully outdoor obstacle course. Please dress accordingly and for the weather. Should we experience weather conditions that make our event unsafe, we will make necessary announcements. THAT SAID, our sport is all terrain and all weather! If it’s rainin’ we’re trainin’ and if it’s snowin’ we’re goin’! We don’t mind a little weather but we’ll always make the call with your safety in mind.

    VOLUNTEERS

    Arrival time- 7:30am - 8:00 am

    Your Team leader will be coordinating all volunteers, please see her for your assignment! A GIANT thank you to all our volunteers! We couldn't make our events so great without the helping hands we have on deck. That said, there is always a need for volunteer help so if you're coming to watch and would like to help a bit, please let us know!

    PARKING:

    Please follow the signs for "EVENT PARKING" and parking attendants will guide you to your parking space. Due to the weather, parking will be as follows !!! 1) 4 wheel - AWD - High clearance vehicles will park on the upper field- All others please park below. 2) PLEASE BACK INTO PARKING SPOTS TO ENSURE SAFE DEPARTURES! 3) Please do not block driveways.

    RESTROOMS:

    Portable restrooms are accessible at the back of the field near tier-one parking.

    Come run the best Cross Country races in Upstate NY for Open and Master’s runners. Individual and Club members compete for individual age group prizes and team awards. Members of Upstate NY Clubs compete for Series points, awards, and bragging rights. Championship Day is Sunday, November 15th.

    These races are for the most experienced runners as well as beginners to the sport of Cross Country running. It’s fun for all and anyone may participate. The PGXC series is now in its 36th year with five races hosted by local clubs in locations throughout the Western NY.

    A beautiful 5k trail run with an option to race 2 laps for 10k. The event takes place on Single Track trails through wooded hillsides near the Wallkill river and along untamed fields at Gardiner’s Riverbend Trails.

    This year we are participating in an athletic sneaker recycling program. You will receive a coupon for each pair of athletic sneakers you donate.
