In 2026 The Longest Day Will be exploring a new region of the Adirondack Mountains in New York. This will be a 24 hour event held in the heart of one of the largest parks in the US. Teams of 2 - 4
will experience world class single track mountain biking, incredible navigation through forests and over mountains, and exciting wilderness packrafting.
This race is built to challenge the toughest adventure racers but also give new folks the chance to experience a longer race format. On this course many of the checkpoints will be optional with a fewer number of mandatory points to make sure that everyone gets across the finish line together.
Unfortunately our permitting does not allow for solo racers for this event.
The course we designed will be a challenge both for experienced racers and new folks alike so don’t shy away if you’re just starting out in AR, we’ve got something for everyone!
Race Course Highlights:
• Strategic route planning
• Pre-plotted maps
• Scenic and challenging terrain
• Killer post-race feed
This year’s race will take place in brand new AR territory. So get ready for an amazing adventure in a brand new venue!
Since 2026 will feature packrafting, boats will NOT be provided by the race organization. We are requiring all teams to provide their own packrafts for the event. We are passing this savings onto the participants with lower entry fees for 2026

Last Man Standing Lake Placid
July 25th, 2026 at 9:00 AM
Last Man Standing is a backyard ultra race held on the pristine, wooded trails at Mt. Hovenberg in Lake Placid, New York. Based on the
original Backyard Ultra format created by Lazarus Lake, the rules are simple—but finishing is anything but.
You must complete one 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour. Finish a loop early? Great—rest, refuel, stretch, panic, question your life choices—just be back in the corral before the next bell rings. The moment you fail to start a loop on time, you’re out.
Some show up to win. Most show up to find out what they’re made of. Whether your goal is 2 loops or 40, this event is about going further than you thought possible.
The Last Man Standing course is as inviting as it is challenging. Those who are new to trail running and the backyard ultra format may find themselves completing new personal best distances. Trail veterans will push against their toughest limits and break through them!

Please join OMS for the Gravel Gallop bike ride on August 2. Riders can start at 8:30 am, but feel free to arrive at your convenience.
We have 3 route options: 9 mile, 32 mile, and 45 mile loops, all
through beautiful Plymouth, VT. The routes have great diversity and some challenging climbs. The start and finish will be at Plymouth State Park. The registration fee includes day use of the park for the whole day. Perfect for swimming in the lake after the ride!
This is a fun, non-competitive, self-guided ride. There are no aid stations or volunteers along the route, so please carry plenty of water and dress appropriately.
ALSO…we are riding on some fine, quiet dirt roads. BUT. We have to be mindful of other users. And there are some sections of road with sketchy washboards. The worst one.. maybe… is descending Old Turnpike towards Rt.103. There are nasty washboards into a sweeping left hand turn then a RR crossing. A wise person once told me…"When in doubt, chicken out" GREAT Mantra

Please note: this is a self guided ride. You can download the GPS route to your device. We will also have paper maps available. There will be minimal signage and no volunteers or stations out on the ride.
To download either route on to a GPS device, click on your prefered ride from above. Once that opens at the bottom of the little box describing the ride click on “View Full Route -” to open the route. There you can do the map download for a GPS device by exporting the TCX file. Questions e-mail Rick at [email protected]
There will also be a delicious burrito lunch and a seltzer afterwards!
100% of proceeds from this event will go directly toward local student-athlete financial assistance for this winter. Thank you for supporting our Scholarship Fund. OMS is a 501©(3).
The routes were handpicked by Rick Trainer of Mountain Cycology. Thank you Mountain Cycology!

Hoopla 2026 dates just announced!
Join us for a weekend of bringing folks together to enjoy cycling, camping, outdoor adventure and fun! Make new friends, ride awesome trails and try out new bikes.
We have planned a family friendly event and are ready to inspire new riders as well as to challenge trail and road warriors alike. Enjoy guided rides for all levels in the beauty of the Berkshire Hills: road ride, single track, gravel, kids, enduro, double track and family friendly trails. Bonfires, food trucks, live music, BBQ and maybe even a disco tent! This is not a mountain bike specific event, it’s open to all disciplines of cycling whether you are on a road, gravel, kids, fat or mountain bike. Just c’mon out and play!
Camping and event activities are located at Ponderosa Pines Campground at 50 Potter Mountain Rd, in Lanesborough. It is best accessed from the east or south(Pecks Rd, Bull Hill Rd or Churchill St and beware of your GPS advising you to come in from NY to the west via Potter Mtn Rd, you won’t make it over! The campground is nestled in-between Balance Rock State Park and Pittsfield State Forest(https://www.mass.gov/locations/pittsfield-state-forest), the 3rd and 4th largest public lands in the state of Massachusetts. Being on a dirt road it is the perfect location to start a gravel ride, with direct access to single track out the back of the campground is doesn’t get much better for the mountain bikers and the Mount Greylock Visitor Center(https://www.mass.gov/locations/mount-greylock-state-reservation) on Rockwell Rd is a short 7 miles away so you won’t use up to much energy before pedaling to the highest point in Massachusetts on your road bike! We will have a kids loop that stays close to
the event site, but even young teenagers will find that the access to the single track is quite manageable.
Our goal is to create a safe and fun environment to gather like minded people. With your participation, Hoopla is able to support other local cycling events, maintain and improve existing trails, purchase equipment for trail builders and donate to fitness/sporting organizations that need a little help.
Hope to see you there!
